MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s been almost two months since the remains of 215 children were found on the grounds of a former residential school.

That discovery is what prompted one Indigenous woman to start a healing walk as a way of showing support for lives tragically lost.

Shayna Taypotat, 29, is walking over 1,555 kilometres from Saskatchewan to Kamloops and on Tuesday, she was in Medicine Hat.

Taypotat’s “A Walk To Healing For All” journey began on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation, about 165 kilometres east of Regina.
