Period Promise Poetry Powerhouse

The Period Promise Poetry Powerhouse is a Central Alberta collective of some of the region’s greatest women leading change. They will be reading from “She Was,” poems about phenomenal women on June 19, 2021 from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on Zoom.

This event is brought to you by Surrender Living, an online mental health space designed for mind/body/spirit wellness at facebook.com/surrenderliving. 100% of the ticket proceeds go to the Soroptimist Menstrual Warriors fundraising team for the Period Promise.

The Period Promise Pilot Project by Soroptimist International of Central Alberta and the United Way of Central Alberta, is a local response to a global issue. We can reduce the isolation created by period poverty in our neighborhoods.

Sherri Smith, Soroptimist International of Central Alberta club president is excited to bring the community together to enhance gender equality.

“We are raising funds and collecting feminine hygiene products for the Period Promise, while encouraging organizations and individuals to do the same.”
