Drayton Valley RCMP Weekly Report: May 27-June 3

May 27

1:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. Police attended and identified the driver, there was nothing concerning noted.

2:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 2 vehicle collision, no injuries.

4:50 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Report of an abandoned damaged trailer. Police contacted the owner who was aware of the location of the trailer, but not the damage.

May 28

7:48 am – Brazeau County – Twp 514 – Abandoned side-by-side and trailer. Police attended, determined it was stolen and the owner came to pick it up.

8:11 am – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – 911 hang-up from the hospital, common occurrence, no emergency.

9:04 am – Drayton Valley – Request from BC RCMP to serve court documents.

9:27 am – Brazeau County – Police were called to assist Emergency Medical Services.

9:42 am – Brazeau County – 52 Avenue – Attempted theft of a truck overnight, suspects were unsuccessful with starting the truck but stole two firearms, a .30-30 lever action Winchester rifle and a .22 Cooey rifle.

10:10 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Police were called by school staff to assist with an unruly student.

11:57 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report of a verbal altercation outside between two people. Police attended but could not locate anyone.

12:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 48B Avenue – Residential alarm, police attended, determined it was a false alarm.

3:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to report someone is impersonating them on facebook. Member advised to contact facebook. Member spoke with offending party and provided a warning.

3:39 pm – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Call of an injured deer that needed to be put down. Member attended and euthanized deer.

3:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of 3 people breaking into a residence in progress. Police attended and located the 3 suspects. They had forgotten their key inside and locked themselves out and had to gain access through a window. Identities confirmed.

8:49 pm – Drayton Valley – Complaint of a road rage incident that happened 3 days prior, the complainant only wanted the other party spoken to and warned.

9:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Audible alarm heard from a business. Police attended, staff on site advised they set off the alarm accidentally and notified the alarm company of the false alarm.

May 29

12:30 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Vehicle taken without consent. Vehicle located and the driver was arrested and released on paperwork for court at a later date. Charges are pending. The passenger of the vehicle had outstanding warrants out of Edmonton and was arrested and released on those.

1:00 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Noise complaint, possible party reported. Police attended and saw some youth walking down the street, but no party of disturbance was located.

1:30 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – While attending to the previous complaint, police located a vehicle with several occupants stop at St. Anthony’s school. The member conducted a traffic stop and determined that although some occupants had been drinking, they had a designated driver.

1:38 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Report of an older model truck shining light into parked vehicles. Police patrolled the area, but no vehicles matching the description were located.

1:52 am – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Call of a fight, police attended and identified the two that had been fighting. Sibling altercation and both were intoxicated. Parties were separated.

3:39 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Verbal altercation in an apartment. Police attended, parties separated for the night

9:14 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Black tandem car hauler trailer stolen overnight from a locked yard.

12:15 pm – Brazeau County – Break in to an industrial site sometime over the past week. Entry through a fence, electrical cables stolen.

3:20 pm – Brazeau County – Twp 482 – Verbal altercation between family members. Police attended, matter had been resolved prior to arrival.

5:36 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Complaint of a speeding vehicle. Evansburg members located the vehicle and warned the driver.

8:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Police were called to a verbal dispute. Nothing criminal, parties agreed to separate for the evening.

8:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Suspicious male in the park. When police were able to attend the male was gone.

8:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male drove into two parked vehicles. Driver of vehicle issued a violation ticket for driving while distracted.

9:13 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting loud music. Member attended and requested they turn down the music.

10:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting missing person. Person located at friends residence.

11:01 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting disturbance. Neighbours have been setting off fireworks for the past hour and playing loud music. Member attended, fireworks all done and music had been turned off.

11:58 pm – Drayton Valley – Request to attend hospital to seize found drugs. Member attended and seized a small quantity of Methamphetamine.

May 30

1:22 am – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Complainant calling to report a male has fallen off bike. Members attended, male not injured.

6:02 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a break and enter and theft overnight. Entry made by cutting the back gate. White 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck with a flat deck trailer stolen.

10:07 am – Drayton Valley – Panic alarm received. Members attended, cleaning staff on site. No emergency.

4:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Male is causing a disturbance. Members patrolled the area, male not located.

9:37 pm – Drayton valley – 54 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Male given suspension for impaired driving.

9:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting they found a bunch of tubing and wiring. Member attended and located remnants of wire stripping.

May 31

1:41 am – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle which has been sitting in their driveway for the past 5 minutes. Vehicle took off. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

3:22 am – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed known male. Mal arrested on outstanding warrants out of Edmonton.

8:05 am – Hwy 22 – Complainant calling to report they were receiving threats after he was told to return a purchased item without a refund. Complainant had bought a lawnmower off a person in Edmonton for $800, the next day the person requested an additional $200 threatening to take the complainant to small claims court if they didn’t pay.

8:47 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 911 hangup received. On call back, they spoke with an individual who advised there was no emergency.

10:36 am – Brazeau county – Hwy 620 – Complainant called to report they were driving westbound on Hwy 620 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle

6:12 pm – Drayton Valley – EMS called to request assistance with an individual who was being uncooperative. Members attended, individual had calmed down prior to arrival.

7:24 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting their vehicle was broken into and ignition damaged.

9:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 47A Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious person on a swing for a few hours, then got up and did some strange hand movements. Member attended, person was gone prior to arrival.

9:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on individual. Member attended last known address. Person there advised the individual had left over a year ago

10:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting neighbours yelling and slamming doors. Members patrolled the area as they had left prior to arrival. Individuals not located.

June 1

2:08 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant advising they thought they heard gun shots. Member was on patrol and was able to confirm that it was fireworks.

10:02 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Member on patrol located female known to be on outstanding warrants. Female arrested and held for bail hearing. Small quantity of fentanyl located.

10:23 am – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting they were traveling west on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

11:46 am – Brazeau county – RR 73 – Complainant reported that someone had broke into a vacant property. Front door broken and items rummaged through.

2:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol observed a vehicle being driven by known male with outstanding warrants. Members attempted a traffic stop and vehicle fled driving through a gated compound and through a fence. Vehicle later discovered in a field west of Drayton Valley. Police dog Services were called and male located and arrested. 27 year old William SHAW was arrested on numerous outstanding warrants. In addition, SHAW has been charged with 11 other Criminal code Charges. SHAW held for a hearing and remanded.

4:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an unwanted male. Male is high on drugs. Members attended and spoke with complainant and male who left without incident.

4:06 pm – Brazeau county – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a single vehicle rollover. Single occupant. Driver blew a Fail on roadside screening device. Driver transported to hospital by EMS. Driver issued several violation tickets.

4:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a dangerous driver in a U haul truck presently in the back alley. Members attended location, vehicle gone prior to arrival, patrols conducted, vehicle not located.

4:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 55A Avenue – Complainant requesting members attend to check on welfare of child. Child custody issue, ongoing

5:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 open line. Laughing heard in background. No emergency

8:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Several 911 calls received. No emergency, Attempting to call out from room

9:05 pm – Brazeau county – Rr 73 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued violation ticket for operating a motor vehicle with no registration.

9:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Child custody issue regarding court order. Members spoke with complainant.

11:20 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett road – Complainant reporting excessive noise. Dirtbike is going up and down the street. Small childs dirtbike is being driver by adults who appear to be intoxicated. Members attended area, no one located.

11:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 911 hangup. Members attended location, no emergency.

11:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting 2 males and a female are setting off fireworks. Members attended location, no one located.

11:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Report of a fight in progress. A lot of yelling and screaming going on. Members attended, no fight had taken place. Individual is moving out. Member stayed to keep the peace

June 2

12:01 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting a gun shot. It was fireworks that had been set off. Members patrolled the area.

12:14 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting noise. Fireworks being set off.

2:30 am – Brazeau county – Complainant reporting an alarm. Members attended lease site. Suspects had cut the fence. Copper wire cut and several doors had been opened.

11:19 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting someone is rummaging through and damaging the flowers at the garden center.

2:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 2 vehicle collision in parking lot reported.

2:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting loud music being played. Member attended and spoke with individual who agreed to turn the music down.

3:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 44A Avenue – Complainant reporting they got into an argument and other individual won’t get out of the vehicle. Members attended, other individual had already left

3:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting 3 small children are in a vehicle with the windows down a little. Member attended, vehicle gone.

6:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an intoxicated driver. 2 males were observed drinking beer at the 7-11. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

7:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 hangup received. Talking heard in background. Member attended area and patrolled, no emergency

9:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting property damage occurring at the dodge dealership. Appears to be a male breaking a window on a vehicle. Male is getting on a bike and heading towards the river. Member attended, no damage to vehicle. Suspect located and advised they were simply looking at vehicle’s

June 3

12:44 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting theft of black 2010 Ford F150.

3:03 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting threats received. Members attended and spoke with all parties involved.
