Third man charged in Maskwacis stabbing death

A third man has now been arrested and charged in relation to a stabbing death last month at Maskwacis.

It was just after 6 a.m. on April 11 when RCMP responded to a call about a stabbing at a home on the Ermineskin Cree Nation.

The victim, 51-year-old Albert Dean Wildcat, was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries on April 15.

RCMP said their investigation determined that a home invasion involving a number of suspects had taken place.

Leon Clark Ermineskin, 25, and Justin James Larocque, 33, were arrested April 22 and charged with several counts including second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

On Thursday, RCMP announced that Kris Tyrell Rain, 23, of Samson Cree Nation has also been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

All three men remain in custody and are to appear in Wetaskiwin provincial court on June 1.
