Lindsay Thurber moves to temporary online learning
Alberta Education has approved Red Deer Public’s request to move Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School students to temporary online learning at home, effective immediately.
Red Deer Public Schools officials say Alberta Education has specific criteria to grant schools these measures and after reviewing the circumstances, agreed the school has met the criteria to move to temporary online learning.
Starting Monday, April 26, all students from Lindsay Thurber will move to temporary online learning until further notice.
“The rise of COVID-19 cases in our community has resulted in ongoing pressures and strains on students, learning resources and staff,” said Chris Good, Principal of Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School, in a press release. “This year has been challenging and difficult for students, parents and staff given the number of positive cases and required isolations needed. Our request was made for the best interests of our students and staff at Lindsay Thurber.”
