Unfortunately for the Red Deer Rebels their home game Saturday night versus the Medicine Hat Tigers went pretty much the same as their Friday game down at Medicine Hat.

For the second straight game, the Rebels jumped out to a 2-0 lead. But also for the second straight night, the Tigers dominated special teams and scored a string of unanswered goals in a 5-2 win.

The Rebels suffered their 11th loss in a row and fell to 2-14-2-0 on the year while Medicine Hat improved to 11-3-0-1.

Arshdeep Bains opened the scoring when he netted his eighth goal of the season 9:49 into the first period with a backhander past Tigers goalie Garin Bjorklund.

Ben King made it 2-0 when he ripped a powerplay shot past Bjorklund at the 16:51 mark for his team leading eighth goal and 19th point.

Medicine Hat started their comeback 6:23 into period two when Ryan Chyzowski scored his seventh goal on the year past Rebels netminder Byron Fancy.

Reid Andresen tied it 2-2 when he put home his first Western Hockey League goal late in the middle frame at the 18:20 mark. Red Deer native Noah Danielson earned the primary assist on the goal.

Once again it was all Medicine Hat in the third period starting with Corson Hopwo striking for his 13th of the year, and sixth against Red Deer, at 4:28.

Cole Clayton added his seventh goal of the season, tops among all WHL defencemen, on a powerplay at 14:03 to nail down the win for Medicine Hat. Brett Kemp added his 10th goal of the year for good measure at 17:54 on another Tigers powerplay.

Medicine Hat outshot Red Deer 34-17 on the night and was 2-for-4 on the night while the Rebels were 1-for-3.

The Rebels and Tigers meet again Monday night in Medicine Hat to wrap up their three game weekend series. Game time is 7 p.m. with the live broadcast on 106.7 REWIND Radio starting at 6:50 p.m.
