Drayton Valley RCMP Report: March 11 – March 17

March 11

11:10 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle observed going through a stop sign before entering an intersection. Driver issued a violation ticket.

11:44 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol observed an individual driving and not wearing their seat belt. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to wear a seatbelt.

1:41 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a driver in a black Vac Truck with the tank raised up was damaging highway signs. Member attended area and patrolled, however, no broken signs were observed.

5:52 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of found cable casing. Member patrolled the area, no cable located.

7:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious person loitering around. Male had been in and out of the store. Male wearing a red sweatshirt and sweatpants and carrying a duffle bag. Members attended location. Male was waiting for a ride.

7:25 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Older yellow Mitsubishi 4 door sedan was parked with 4 occupants. While talking with the complainant, vehicle left location. Members attended and located the vehicle on a lease site. 1 individual charged for driving while unauthorized.

8:26 pm – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Complainant reporting suspicious vehicles. 3 white trucks stopped in front of complainant’s residence and shone a light into their residence. Member advised the complainant it was the RCMP.

9:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant advised their ex has attended their residence intoxicated and causing issues. Members attended and spoke with all parties involved.

March 12

7:06 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Complainant reporting someone broke the window of their vehicle. Electronics, ammunition, and hunting knives stolen.

10:02 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported single-vehicle collision that occurred March 8 on a lease road within Yellowhead County.

2:49 pm – Parkland County – Complainant reported safety concerns for a female due to pending relationship breakup. Under investigation.

6:58 pm – Brazeau County – RR 84 – Complainant reported a suspicious truck at a lease site. Patrols made, truck gone.

7:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver, last seen near Pizza Hut. Members patrolled but the vehicle wasn’t located.

8:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to discuss issues around a child custody agreement. Both parties spoken to, solution found that both parties agreed upon.

March 13

12:37 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Members responded to a hangup 911 call from a female. Investigation found the female called 911 in order to get her wallet back from an acquaintance, who returned it upon her calling police.

2:11 am – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported a disturbance at a residence. Members attended, nothing heard. Members called complainant who had been worried neighbours were breaking Covid rules, which they weren’t.

2:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported threats from a customer who had been upset over his medications costing more than he expected. Member investigated, determined the threat didn’t meet threshold for charges, suspect advised to be respectful and deal with concerns appropriately, such as requesting to speak to a manager.

5:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting their roommate’s boyfriend punched them in the mouth. Matter is still under investigation.

7:10 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported an erratic driver, white F-350 with blue headlights driving toward the dam in an aggressive manner. Complainant thought truck might be stolen. Patrols made, truck not located. Information forwarded to Rocky Mountain House members also.

7:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report being punched in the face by an acquaintance. Under investigation.

7:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a possible break and enter to storage facility. Members attended, located one male inside. Male had access to unit. No break and enter.

8:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a possible intoxicated driver. Suspect vehicle is a dark -coloured Jeep Wrangler. Vehicle was swerving into oncoming traffic. Members patrolled the area and notified Breton Detachment. Vehicle not located.

8:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a possible intoxicated individual on a motorcycle. Member located individual who was warned about their manner of driving and about drinking and driving.

10:22 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting trucks speeding on the bridge. Shortly after members were called to a bush party near the bridge. Members attended location, party dispersed.

March 14

3:18 am – Drayton Valley – 55B Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A white Ford Escape. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

8:53 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Security company advised they received a panic alarm. Member attended residence and spoke with occupant who advised they hit the button by accident.

11:43 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting vandalism to vehicle overnight. Rear window broken in their 2006 red Dodge Dakota.

2:32 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant called to report someone stripping copper wire near the ski club. Members attended. No evidence.

3:17 pm – Brazeau County – 911 hangup received. Young child playing with the phone. No emergency.

4:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Individual attended the detachment to turn in a found wallet. Members were able to locate the owner of the wallet and it was returned to them.

5:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Found wallet turned in at 7-11. Member contacted the owner and left a message.

March 15

2:05 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a structure fire. Members attended, appears that it was started by a candle.

10:33 AM – Drayton Valley – Complainant advised they sent $4000 through the mail to a Montreal address after receiving a call from someone stating their grandson needed bail money. They were told by the person not to contact family for one week. This is a fraud. And is still under investigation.

11:14 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report they were threatened. Member took statement. Charges pending.

2:00 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant advised they were driving on Hwy 620 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

2:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Older white Ford Focus is in the parking lot. Member attended, vehicle not reported stolen.

2:15 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant requesting members attend residence and seize firearms.

2:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting an assault. Matter is still under investigation.

4:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Request members assist with removal of male in apartment. Members attended, male left without incident.

4:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Custody issue. One party advised they will not return child as per custody order. Both parties spoken to. Changes will need to be made to custody order. Both parties advised.

8:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an assault in a vehicle. They observed a male in a truck beating up someone who was observed attempting to open the passenger door before getting pulled back into the vehicle. Members located vehicle. Driver arrested for assault and held for a hearing. Male remanded.

March 16

2:37 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Neighbours are banging and yelling. Member attended location. All parties very intoxicated. Advised to go to sleep.

12:37 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a gold Porsche SUV is speeding excessively. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

12:49 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check. Members attended, person very confused and paranoid.

2:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a customer in the drive-thru. Person threw the food back at the complainant. Occurred three days ago.

5:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Request to conduct a wellbeing check on an individual. Members located individual on a lease site. Individual taken to hospital with health concerns.

5:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting their propane tank was stolen off their deck.

6:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a missing truck. Truck not missing. Associated to occupant who was arrested for assault.

8:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Silver Dodge Ram truck. Members were tied up on a high-risk file and unable to attend.

March 17

9:12 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle on a lease site. Vehicle is a red truck. Member attended location. Vehicle is a partial vehicle with the front end and box. Top half of cab and roof are gone.

9:40 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting Peterbilt truck broken into overnight. Several items stolen. Other vehicles in the area were also rummaged through.

11:21 am – Drayton Valley – Request to assist EMS at residence. Members attended, EMS transported person to hospital.

11:21 am – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting a shotgun was pointed at them last night. Complainant had been dropping off a vehicle. Matter still under investigation.

12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant attended the detachment to report someone took something from them last night. Statement taken.

12:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting there is a child running in the street. Wearing grey pants and a yellow and white jacket. Member attended and located child who was returned home.

12:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a grey Cadillac SUV. Member responded and located the vehicle parked at the back of the school. Member spoke with driver and warned them about the manner of driving.

1:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to produce registration and insurance.

2:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a fight at Boston Pizza. Members attended and located persons of interest. All parties warned and advised to either walk home or take a cab as all were intoxicated.

3:45 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting drug paraphernalia found on the ground. Member attended and seized items.

4:09 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting their vehicle was damaged by a semi-truck earlier this morning. Member attended and spoke with both parties involved.

5:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged with stunting.

5:40 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a male following them in a truck after apparently a rock hit their windshield. Member cautioned the person following that they could be charged with harassment if they continued this behaviour.

6:59 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting 2 unwanted males in parking lot. Members attended, males had left.

7:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious males have returned and are in the bush line. Members attended and searched area, no one located.
