Canada’s largest farm and ranch retailer is preparing to open a new and larger location in the city next year.

Red Deer-based Peavey Mart and its parent company Peavey Industries LP have purchased the vacant lot at 2810 – 50 Avenue where it will build and open its newest Peavey Mart store for local shoppers.

The company says the new location will allow for better entry and exit access, easier loading of large items on trucks and trailers plus improved, safer flow of parking lot traffic.

“We remain dedicated to serving our customers and communities and value the commitments and relationships that have sustained us for decades in Red Deer and across Canada,” says Doug Anderson, President & CEO, Peavey Industries LP.

“Red Deer is our home and bringing our stalwart customers the next new Peavey Mart store is an expression of our gratitude. We are excited to have this long-dreamed opportunity come to fruition so we can finally follow through with this ‘thank you’ to our home community.“

The new Red Deer store will be 40,000 square feet and employ up to 50 people.

“We are thrilled to be giving Red Deer ‘the hometown advantage’ with this flagship Peavey Mart,” adds Dave Simmonds, COO, Peavey Industries LP.

“A central Alberta destination for many living, working and raising their young families in smaller centres or on farms, ranches, acreages – Peavey Mart Red Deer will exemplify our consistent goal to put our customers first and will demonstrate the importance we place on listening and responding to their needs as best we can.”

Red Deer’s new Peavey Mart store will break ground in late spring 2021 with expected completion in spring 2022.
