The Drayton Valley Thunder opened their return to AJHL action with a 5-3 win Friday night over the Whitecourt Wolverines.

The Thunder jumped put to an early 2-0 lead after Colson Gengenbach and Mason Marcellus scored a pair of late-period goals in the first.
