Local real estate market heats up even more in February

February was a sizzling month for home sales in Red Deer.

The latest numbers from the Central Alberta Realtors Association show 137 homes were sold in the city last month. That’s up from 100 sold in January (37% increase) and the 79 homes sold in Red Deer in February 2020 (42% increase).

The 237 homes through the first two months of this year mark a 60% increase over the same time period in 2020.

The average sale price for a Red Deer home is also up, rising to $351,784 last month from $328,081 in January and $318,177 in February 2020.

Homes in Red Deer are also going quicker as units sold last month spent an average of 48 days on the market. That’s down from 71 days in January and 82 in the same month last year.
