CMHA hosting book fair in Red Deer this month

Canadian Mental Health Association in Red Deer needs your books.

The organization is hosting its first annual book fair at the Pidherney Centre from March 19-28. Doors will be open 10-8 each day, except for March 21 and 28 when they’ll be open 10-6. Admission is $2 for adults.

However, CMHA first needs to stock up, which is why from March 4-15, with some exceptions, they are accepting book donations at the Pidherney Centre.

“We are looking for donations of books which we will sell to make money, and we also need volunteers for the event,” says Christine Stewart, CMHA executive director. “The book sale will raise money for mental health – most likely our Crisis Counsellor position as that is only funded until August of this year, so far.”

Textbooks, magazines, dictionaries and encyclopedias will not be accepted, nor will puzzles and games.

Donations can be dropped off March 4-5 from 9-2:30, March 6 from 1-5, March 8-10 from 9-2:30 and March 11-15 from 10-5. Donations will be closed on March 7.
