RCMP investigating cell tower vandalism in central Alberta

Jan 28, 2021 | 5:18 PM

Alberta RCMP say investigations have been launched into two reports of vandalism to TELUS cell towers in central Alberta over the last month.
On Jan. 3, Mounties say a cell tower in Lacombe County was rendered inoperable as a result of vandalism. TELUS crews responded immediately to maintain service for their customers, and the RCMP launched an investigation.
On Jan. 23, another cell tower was vandalized in the Rocky Mountain House area. Again, TELUS responded immediately to address the issue.
RCMP say they are working with TELUS Security to investigate these incidents. However, there has been no determination made as to whether the incidents are related.
