Drayton Valley RCMP Report: January 7 – January 14

January 7

8:14 AM – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Complainant calling to report 4 individuals in a truck were cutting wire at their site. Members attended, suspects were gone upon arrival. Patrols made in area negative.

12:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for failing to wear their seat belt.

4:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report a yellow logging truck blew through a red light. Members patrolled the area with negative results.

5:14 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant was driving on Hwy 22 near the golf course when they hit a deer. Request members attend to euthanize deer.

7:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting excessive noise. Sounds of fighting. Members attended and spoke with the occupants who advised they were wrestling. Requested to keep the noise down. No further complaints received.

January 8

3:12 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a bicycle in the middle of the road. Member attended and located the bicycle propped against a tree, no individuals around.

7:42 am – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting black 2015 Dodge Ram hit while parked in the parking lot. Suspect vehicle is a silver van. Damage to rear passenger side bumper.

9:01 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting theft of licence plate off their silver Jeep Cherokee.

12:28 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting known males are offloading things and messing around with a truck. Members attended and spoke with the males who advised they were dropping off some things. Nothing stolen.

2:47 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to obtain information about what could be done regarding a hacked phone.

3:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for stunting.

3:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting a driver with an expired registration. Member attended and located the vehicle. Driver was not around. Vehicle was parked.

6:17 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a patient has left the hospital after being told they were going to Ponoka. Members located patient, who had barged into a residence, and returned them to the hospital.

7:59 pm – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reporting threats by ex. Members attended residence of ex and arrested them for breaching conditions.

11:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. People in the hallway. Members attended, persons were gone upon arrival. Member conducted patrols in the area with negative results.

January 9

3:58 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting excessive noise. Members attended and no noise heard, complainant advised that the noise stopped prior to arrival.

10:45 am – Alder Flats – Complainant calling with concerns over the wellbeing of some children. Member contacted CFS and all parties involved. No concerns for the children.

11:14 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting ex assaulted them the previous evening. Members attended, ex arrested for assault.

11:25 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant wanting to report a Fraud. $760 was taken out of their account, e-transferred to a Desjardin Bank.

12:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting theft of silver 2003 GMC push truck stolen from lot.

3:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 39 Street – Complainant reporting vehicle broken into. Nothing stolen.

5:23 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting dirt bikes with no lights on the highway. Member attended location and made patrols. Dirt bikes not located.

9:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting someone broke into their residence during the day and stole food, laptop, and broken tv.

9:41 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed a maroon GMC Sierra truck. Attempted a traffic stop. Vehicle fled westbound.

January 10

5:56 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue –Complainant reporting a dispute. Members attended, known male arrested and held for a hearing. Male released.

2:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 39 Street – Complainant reporting theft from their silver 2014 GMC Truck. Several keys and other items stolen from the unlocked vehicle. Matter is still under investigation.

3:50 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting harassment. Suspect is driving a black Chevrolet SUV with tinted windows. Complainant states that this person is always hanging around everywhere they go. Has been warned once.

5:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting they found a can with two pills inside. Member attended and seized can and pills.

9:16 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial road – Complainant reporting alarms were set off at property. 2 males with 2 vehicles. Gate is closed after 9 pm. Member attended and spoke with the males who were unaware that they could not attend at any time.

January 11

­1:47 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting neighbours are making a lot of noise. Member attended, no noise heard. No answer at any door.

8:28 am – Rocky Rapids – Request to assist Brazeau County CPO at traffic stop. Members attended, vehicle not stolen, however, was being driven by known male who was arrested for breaching conditions and driving while criminally suspended.

8:57 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting tri-axle trailer stolen over the weekend. Further investigation revealed that individual had not paid fully for the trailer so owner took it back. Matter is still under investigation.

11:23 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting theft from motor vehicle. Vehicle was unlocked. Small items stolen.

11:45 am – Drayton Valley – Northview Crescent – Complainant reporting theft from motor vehicle. Insurance and registration documents stolen.

1:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Members were at the Econorest on an unrelated matter when they observed male come out of the bathroom with a baggie in their mouth. Male arrested for possession. Male taken to Drayton Valley detachment cells to sober up.

2:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Drayton Valley CPO requesting assistance from members. Known male detained for starting a campfire in the woods. Fire department attended.

2:19 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a stolen black GMC Denali with no tires in a field. Members attended, vehicle towed.

2:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a suspicious male wearing black snow pants and a blue coat carrying a black sleeping bag with pink striping. Complainant is concerned for their welfare as they seem quite unstable on their feet. Members attended.

3:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant requesting assistance from members to evict tenants. Complainant had proper paperwork from courts. Members attended to keep the peace as eviction notices were served.

4:58 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting someone cut and stole approximately 100m of copper communication cable from site near Drayton Valley. This vandalism and theft resulted in the loss of phone and emergency call services.

6:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting known male kicked in their door 2 nights ago. Stole several items.

7:46 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Complainant requesting assistance with an individual who has left the hospital. Individual has special needs.

7:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting a male on drugs. Male is wearing dark clothing and carrying two bags. Male is talking to the gas pumps. Members attended and located male who was given a courtesy ride to the MAT program.

9:15 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a break, enter, and theft to a shed. Occurred sometime over the past 2 weeks. Approximately $5000 tools stolen.

January 12

9:05 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a truck backed into a gas tank in November. Driver of the truck had advised at that time that they would pay for the damages, now stated they would not pay. Matter is still under investigation.

9:19 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant advised they had forgotten to lock the doors on their work truck. Truck was entered and stole sunglasses, gas monitor, and Cliff Bar.

11:27 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an incident that occurred while at a store in town. Complainant said hello to a former student and the individual started swearing and acting strange. The male was asked to leave the store based on their behaviour. Complainant is concerned about the mental health of the individual. Members spoke with individual.

11:35 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting individual has drugs and firearms in residence.

3:12 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they were driving when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

4:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Request from Niagra Police to conduct a welfare check on an individual. Member located individual who was fine.

6:51 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Members attended the residence of individual known to have a warrant. Known male was arrested on outstanding warrants. Male resisted arrest. Male held for a bail hearing.

January 13

3:15 am – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Security at hospital advised that a long-term resident had obtained drugs from unknown individual. Members attended and located male outside. Male was agitated with hospital security. No drugs located, male returned to hospital.

7:54 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – 911 hangup. Members attended, no one there and all secure.

9:15 am – Tomahawk – Complainant advised Evansburg RCMP that they had been assaulted in Tomahawk in September of 2020. Matter is under investigation.

9:42 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant called to report a male who had threatened to drive into oncoming traffic. Male located and was fine.

11:09 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Matter is under investigation.

1:31 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting bullying. Matter is still under investigation.

3:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant advised that someone attempted to break into their truck sometime overnight.

9:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Ongoing issue with male at location causing a disturbance. Members attended.

9:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 42 street – Complainant reporting intoxicated male. Male has been drinking all day and throwing things in the residence. On conditions not to drink. Members located male and arrested for being intoxicated in public. Released when sober.

January 14

4:16 am – Drayton Valley – Commercial alarm, front door. Employee attended and confirmed break and enter, clothing taken. Member attended.

6:22 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting their 2000 silver Honda Civic with Ontario plates was stolen. Vehicle was running with keys in it.

7:15 am – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Complainant advised they were traveling on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch. Complainant attempted to avoid hitting deer and ended up in the ditch. Members attended along with Fire and EMS.
