Four people were arrested after Innisfail RCMP seized a list of weapons during a traffic stop over the weekend.

It was in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 10 when RCMP on patrol in Innisfail observed a vehicle travelling west on 50 Street showing a licence plate reported stolen out of Red Deer.

Officers followed the vehicle before conducting a traffic stop in the 4600 block of 47 Avenue, during which one of the officers saw a firearm one of the occupants was attempting to conceal.

All four occupants of the vehicle were then arrested with no injuries or property damage.

“The vehicle was searched and police located three firearms, two of which were loaded and sawed off, a large quantity of various types of ammunition, several sets of brass knuckles, several knives, a conducted energy weapon, body armour, identity documents, a suspected explosive device and a quantity of a substance believed to be fentanyl were seized,” Innisfail RCMP says in a release.

The RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit was called in from Edmonton to deal with the explosive device.

• 44 year old Amber Achtemichuk of Red Deer,

• 23 year old Kolton Dalkin, of Red Deer,
