The Heritage Junior Hockey League is taking an extended holiday break.
Representatives from the league’s 14 clubs met virtually on Dec. 16 to discuss the league’s future following the Christmas holidays and decided that all January games will be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“With the safety of the HJHL’s players, coaches, officials and volunteers as the top priority, the league will continue to look at its options as to when to resume competition in a safe manner,” the league posted on its website.
The league says team officials will meet again virtually to map out the first few months of 2021 once the Alberta government and Hockey Alberta have given further instruction.
