Tomorrow is last day for in-person customer service at Recreation Centre

The City of Red Deer is reminding residents that tomorrow is the last day for in-person customer services offerings at the downtown Recreation Centre.

In response to the new provincial public health guidelines and rising COVID-19 cases around the city, customer service operations at the Recreation Centre will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 11 until further notice.

Friday will be the last day to make in-person payments, but other forms of payment will continue to be available to the public.

City staff will continue to be available for questions and support through phone and email while the Recreation Centre remains closed, with the exception of December 25 through to January 3, during which time City offices will be closed.

While in-person payments will temporarily not be accepted, a number of options remain available to the public.

For utility bill payments, customers can:

• Sign-up for The City’s pre-authorized withdrawal program (PAWS) either through your MyCity Account or with our Utilities PAWS Application Form, available online at ca/PAWS.
• Pay online or by phone through their bank. If they choose this option, you need to register your City utility account information with your bank. Keep a copy of one of your City utility bills nearby when setting up your online or phone payment service. For detailed questions regarding online or pay by phone payment options, please contact your financial institution.
• Pay in person at most banks and financial institutions.
• Pay by mail by making out a cheque payable to The City of Red Deer and mailing it to Box 5008, Red Deer, AB, T4N 3T4.

For licence renewal (business, dog, taxi, and urban chicken), customers can:

• Apply or renew licences online using MyCity: https://reddeer.ca/online-tools/mycity/
• Pay by mail by making your cheque payable to The City of Red Deer and mail it to Box 5008, Red Deer, AB, T4N 3T4.

For parking related services, customer can:

• Renew or apply for monthly parking using MyCity: https://reddeer.ca/online-tools/mycity/
• Pay by mail by making your cheque payable to The City of Red Deer and mail it to Box 5008, Red Deer, AB, T4N 3T4.
• To appeal a parking ticket, please email cityparking@reddeer.ca

Please note that drop boxes outside City Hall are not able to accept payments at this time.
