Red Deer with 373 active COVID-19 cases

Alberta reported another 1,727 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

That’s out of 19,109 test results over the past 24 hours for a positivity rate of nine per cent.

There are now 20,388 active cases in the province, an increase of 321.

There have been 51,000 recovered cases in the province, an increase of 1,397.

Alberta reported another nine deaths related to COVID-19 to bring the total to 640.

The number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations in the province sits at 654, an increase of 45, including 112 in intensive care, an increase of four.

In Red Deer, the number of active COVID-19 cases has risen to 373, an increase of 18 from Monday. Recovered cases are up by 17 to 459 as the total number of cases attributed to the city rose by 45 to 832.

Red Deer County has seen its active case count rise from 82 as of Monday to 97. Sylvan Lake now has 66 active cases, up from 64.

Clearwater County (Rocky Mountain House) has 62 active cases, a decrease of one.

Lacombe County has 71 active cases as of Tuesday, an increase of eight, while Lacombe has 46, a decrease of one.

Ponoka County saw its active case count drop by one to sit at 206.

Mountain View County has 28 active cases, Olds has 27, and Kneehill County has 14. Starland County has three active cases, while the County of Stettler has 20.

There are now 1,526 active cases across the Central zone and 50 hospitalizations, including six in intensive care. The Central zone has now recorded 20 deaths related to COVID-19 with the latest being a man in his 70s. Comorbidities are unknown at this time.
