Drayton Valley RCMP Report: November 19 – November 26

November 19

8:38 am – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on family member who they are unable to get a hold of. Complainant called back shortly after to advise they were able to contact family member – their cat had knocked their phone off.

9:18 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – 911 hang up received. On callback a male answered, answering machine kept cutting in. Member attended, no emergency, dialed 911 by accident.

9:23 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant calling to request a wellbeing check on family member. Members attended and spoke with family member. All fine.

10:41 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a breach of an emergency protection order. Ex attended and took pictures of residence. Member attended, no active protection order in place, no offence.

12:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Complainant reporting shoplifter. Member attended and spoke with suspect who was warned as per direction of complainant.

12:20 pm – Drayton Valley – Walmart – Complainant reporting their identification cards were stolen approximately 1 month ago. Complainant was advised that his identification was in the possession of a male. Complainant met with male and was able to get identification back and did not wish to pursue charges.

1:14 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant advised that they were northbound on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

2:21 pm – Brazeau County – Residential alarm received. Resident called back and advised alarm was false.

3:41 – Drayton Valley – OCT – Complainant reporting an impaired driver in a dark grey Dodge Dakota. 2 occupants. Members patrolled area with negative results.

7:26 pm – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A black Dodge Charger has been going up and down the main road for the past 45 minutes. Members attended and located vehicle unoccupied. Member spoke with resident of place where vehicle was parked and they advised that the driver had left.

9:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant called to report they were being harassed. Complainant advised they got into an argument on a Facebook opinion page and the person they were arguing with is now asking persons where they can find the complainant. Member spoke with both parties and warned them about their behaviour.

November 20

7:30 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting a female running in and out of traffic by St. Anthony’s school. Members recognized description and patrolled area eventually locating female who was warned about their behaviour and advised if it continued they would be arrested.

8:18 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a family member was involved in an online cheque deposit fraud.

8:28 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of a person sleeping in the hallway of an apartment building. Members attended and woke the person and asked them to leave, which they did without incident.

8:51 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report of unwanted people in an apartment without permission. Members determined it was a landlord/tenant issue, not a police matter.

9:27 am – Brazeau County – Twp 495 – Possible theft/damage to cable occurred overnight. Utility company was on scene dealing with it already.

9:46 am – Parkland County – Twp 514 – Collision between a vehicle and a deer.

1:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of a suspicious person. Members attended, patrols made, the person was no longer in the area.

1:54 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting vandalism and theft of communication wire. Vandalism caused outages for 18 customers.

2:16 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – 2 vehicle collision, minor injuries.

3:49 pm – Brazeau County – Country Style Trailer Court – Child welfare concern. Matter referred to Child and Family Services.

5:38 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of an injured deer on the highway. Members attended and removed the deer from the road.

7:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complaint reported that while at a business an unknown person threatened them.

7:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of dogs left in an unattended vehicle that was not running for at least an hour. Police attended and found the dogs and they were in the process of having animal control attend when the owner returned. Warned about leaving animals alone in cold weather.

7:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Homeless person inside a bank lobby sleeping. Police attended and gave the person a ride to the MAT program.

8:49 pm – Brazeau County– Police called regarding a mental health issue. Arrangements made for the parents to transport the person to the hospital, no need for police attendance.

10:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of a possible domestic incident. Police attended, determined it was a verbal altercation and not domestic-related.

11:25 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Driver crashed off of guard rail. Driver arrested and charged for impaired driving.

11:59 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Rrailer Court – Complainant reporting male came home intoxicated and wants them removed. Male had left prior to arrival of members. Complainant did not wish charges, just wanted them to leave for the night.

November 21

12:25 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Report of an unknown person outside screaming and yelling. Police attended, not initially located. A short time later a person matching the description was located, was intoxicated, and was arrested and lodged until sober.

2:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Dispute at the MAT program. Members attended and removed the problem parties.

5:48 am – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Information reported of a person who drives without a license or insurance.

3:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street & 46 Avenue – Report of a hit and run between a vehicle and a cyclist. No injuries, cyclist was crossing the street while on their bike and was bumped by an unknown vehicle. Cyclist warned that they need to follow the rules of the road like a vehicle.

6:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Unwanted person in an apartment lobby. Police attended, advised they were unwelcome and they left without incident.

6:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Report of an assault. Police attended, dispute between adult siblings, nobody willing to provide a statement. The suspect had left prior to police attendance.

8:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Police were called back as the suspect from the previous file returned. The suspect was located outside heavily intoxicated and was arrested and held until sober.

11:05 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Report of a vehicle in the ditch. Police attended, evidence of impairment present, the driver was issued a 24-hour driving suspension.

11:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on family member. Member located male who wasn’t feeling well and went to the hospital.

November 22

6:58 am – Drayton Valley – Weyerhaeuser – Report of a suspicious vehicle, possibly checking out vehicles. The vehicle left when a staff member approached.

8:12 am – Brazeau County – Cynthia – Theft of a 16’ car trailer overnight.

9:34 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting two suspicious persons in the alley. Male and female are going in and out of a vehicle and garbage bins. Member attended and located two known persons. Moved on when requested to.

10:56 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting the driver’s window of their vehicle was broken and wallet taken.

11:23 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male is passed out in the alley. Male was awoken and asked to move on. Male got up and then looked at the nearby vehicle before moving. Male described is known to members. Members patrolled area, male not located.

4:42 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting an assault. Complainant stated that another male had assaulted him when he told him to leave the property. Complainant suffered a broken tooth. Members spoke with both parties, consensual fight.

5:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male stole something from behind the lodge and then left in a grey Dodge truck with yellow back window stickers. Member contacted the Registered owner who advised they thought the metal was garbage. Will follow up with the lodge on Monday.

8:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter in progress. 2 persons were observed climbing the fence. Members attended and cleared the area, no persons located.

8:56 pm – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Complainant reporting a breach of conditions. Male who is on conditions was in their yard. Members attended, male had left. Complainant to provide a statement.

November 23

2:06 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting an injured deer in the back yard. Deer is stuck in fence. Members attended and freed deer from fence. Deer euthanized due to injuries.

7:42 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an abandoned trailer in the ditch. Member attended.

8:17 am – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Avenue – Complainant called 911 advising that they had back pain and wobbly legs. Members attended and called EMS. EMS transported to hospital.

8:46 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting their licence plate was either lost or stolen off of their vehicle.

8:47 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on family member. Members located family member who had fallen asleep.

9:04 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. White minivan has been parked for the past 5 days. Member contacted the registered owner who advised it was a delivery van and parks there when not in use.

9:09 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant advising a taxi driver is using a personal plate rather than a commercial plate.

10:05 am – Drayton Valley – 41 Street – Complainant reporting someone broke into their vehicle yesterday and stole their wallet. Credit card has been used.

10:19 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a hit and run to their 2015 silver GMC Canyon while they were parked at Wal Mart or IGA.

11:43 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an elderly lady came into the spa and seemed quite confused. Members attended and were able to determine the identity of the female. Female was located and did not appear to be in distress.

November 24

7:14 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a collision involving a deer. Damage to the driver’s side of vehicle.

8:19 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting they were beaten up and robbed of their cell phone. Known suspects. Members executed a search warrant of a residence to search for the phone.While searching they noted a significant amount of drugs. A second search warrant was executed in which Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine were located, approximate street value of $10000. One male arrested and charged with 3 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Same male and two females were arrested and charged with robbery.

10:46 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report a collision with a dog. Complainant unable to stop, dog deceased.

11:22 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant advised they were driving when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

12:57 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting they were travelling eastbound near Lodgepole when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle causing damage.

1:28 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting they were travelling west on Highway 621 by the Pembina River Bridge when a deer collided with their vehicle damaging the front passenger side.

5:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Post Office – Complainant reporting an unwanted male is in the vestibule of the post office. Member attended, male provided a courtesy ride to the MAT program.

7:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting 2 persons have started a fire near the Calvary Baptist church. Members attended and located known male and female. Fire had been started to stay warm. Fire extinguished.

7:39 – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting 3 males wearing hoodies are walking around with flashlights. Members patrolled the area, males not located.

8:57 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting female broke down their bedroom door. Members attended, both parties agreed to separate for the night.

9:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Report of a suspicious semi-truck.
Semi located in the ditch east of Drayton Valley with no occupants. Vehicle had been stolen out of Red Deer earlier that day and had been involved in a break and enter to a residence in the Evansburg area. Vehicle towed. 2 males were arrested with the assistance of police dog services and a Breton member. Both males are being held for a hearing.

November 25

2:27 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. Male and a dog have been walking back and forth. Member patrolled the area, male not located.

11:31 am – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting ex inlaws are sending harassing text messages. No proof the ex inlaws are sending the messages and they did not meet the threshold for harassment.

1:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting they are receiving harassing messages. Approximately 20 messages received. Previous history has been reported. Member contacted the sender of the messages and advised of possible charges if it continues.

3:43 PM – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant requesting members assist with obtaining their belongings.

10:15 pm – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Complainant reporting they were driving when they smelled something funny then noted there was a fire under the hood of their truck. Complainant was able to stop the vehicle and get out.

November 26

12:12 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male trying vehicle doors and carrying bags. Male is wearing all black. Member attended location and patrolled the area, male not located.

6:56 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported an injured Elk on the side of the Hwy.
