Drayton Valley RCMP Report: November 12 – November 19

November 12

8:58 am – Brazeau County – Elk River Road – Vehicle went off the road and struck a tree trying to avoid a moose.

10:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Multiple alarm hits to a business. Members attended, business was opening and having alarm issues.

11:11 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Report of an abandoned vehicle.

4:10 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Driving complaint regarding semi-trucks on the highway near a rural property.

4:20 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Suspicious vehicle in the area. Report of an older white pickup truck pulled into driveway. When one of the residents approached the vehicle it took off. Patrols made, vehicle not located.

4:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Apartment broken into sometime in the past month and a half. Food, cookware, air mattress, and utensils stolen.

6:04 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a dead animal on the road causing a driving hazard. Police removed the carcass.

November 13

1:54 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complaint of tires getting slashed. Police attended and spoke with everyone around, no witnesses, but 2 suspects’ names were provided. Police spoke with the suspects who denied knowledge but admitted to yelling at the owner of the vehicle earlier in the day.

8:18 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Suspicious vehicle near Twp 502. The occupants appeared to be fighting. Police attended, but the vehicle had already left. Extensive patrols made and neighbouring detachments asked to look for the vehicle as well.

9:10 am – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Report of a collision on private property. Non-reportable collision.

9:52 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Collision between a vehicle and a deer.

11:32 am – Brazeau County – RR 64 – Abandoned vehicle on a lease site. Police attended and confirmed vehicle was not stolen. Police were able to locate the RO nearby, was part of a construction crew.

11:52 am – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Damage to gate on waste transfer station and break-in to the employee trailer.

1:04 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Collision between a vehicle and a deer.

1:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Report of a loan being fraudulently opened through a bank.

7:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Request for a wellbeing check on occupants of a residence. Police attended, no issues identified.

November 14

2:05 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Suspicious vehicle behind Walmart. Members attended, the vehicle left when the delivery truck arrived. The vehicle was not located.

2:23 am – Brazeau County – RR 73 – While on patrol, police observed a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign. A traffic stop was initiated and a sobriety test was conducted which resulted in the driver being issued a 30-day license suspension and 7-day vehicle seizure.

2:45 am – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – While on patrol, police observed a vehicle with no tail lights. A traffic stop was initiated and a sobriety test was conducted which resulted in the driver being issued a 30-day license suspension and 7-day vehicle seizure.

8:14 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Collision between a vehicle and a deer.

4:41 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 505 – Multiple hangup 911 calls from a residence, determined to be from children playing with the phone. Father contacted, confirmed he would be having a discussion with the kids.

5:47 pm – Parkland County – Hwy 759/Twp Rd 514 – Vehicle vs Moose collision.

5:52 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned Ford F-250. Members attended, only the cab present. Vehicle not reported stolen.

6:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant reporting people speeding and stunting in the parking lot. Member patrolled area, vehicle stop conducted and violation ticket issued.

7:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Male in an older green Ford with a flat deck is yelling at complainant and banging on their vehicle door.

8:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting a male in distress. Members attended and located male. Male having an episode. Male’s worker attended and stayed with them.

November 15

12:06 am – Drayton Valley – 43 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported a group of teens in school parking lot, one laying on the ground. Member attended, teens gone on arrival

1:37 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an insecure load. Dump truck travelling westbound was losing gravel and damaged the windshield of complainant.

4:13 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting male is off medication and is being aggressive. Members attended, male went voluntarily to hospital.

4:40 pm – Brazeau County – Request to assist Saskatchewan RCMP with stolen firearm.

11:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended detachment to use phone to inform of an overdose. EMS attended.

11:47 pm – Brazeau County – RR 82 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Vehicle driver arrested for impaired driving. Female given a 30-day suspension and vehicle towed.

November 16

1:04 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting they were kicked out of residence. Members attended, neither party cooperative. Parties were separated.

6:14 am – Brazeau County – RR 75 – 911 open line. On callback, person answered, no issues.

8:40 am – Drayton Valley – St. Anthony’s School – Several complainants received regarding a female who is loitering around the school, yelling and acting irrationally. Members attended and located female who was arrested for public intoxication and taken to the detachment until sober.

8:49 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant calling to report an unusual phone call received. The caller asked for their number, the complainant hung up.

9:19 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant reporting a stolen package sometime since Friday. FedEx advised that the package was delivered. Parcel was taken off their porch.

4:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Drayton Valley CPO was on patrol and located known male who was wanted on several warrants. Male arrested and held for a hearing.

6:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Alarm company advising of alarm at vacant property. Member attended.

6:32 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle stopped just short of the intersection. Older green Dodge with a dark canopy. Member made patrols, vehicle not located.

8:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a hit and run while parked at the 711. Suspect vehicle is a white Dodge.

November 17

9:58 am – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reporting they were travelling northbound when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

1:01 pm – Brazeau County – RR 75 – Complainant advised they were not feeling very well and requested members attend. Members attended and spoke with complainant and other occupants of the residence. Complainant agreed to go to the hospital.

2:53 pm – Brazeau County – Elk River Road – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. A black Dodge Ram 2500 has been parked for approximately 3 days. Member attended and contacted the Registered Owner who advised they were hunting.

4:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant requesting assistance in removing property.

4:42 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a deceased cougar with a tracking collar in the Eastbound lanes.

5:59 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting they were driving on the highway when they hit a piece of debris. Rims are bent and steering column damaged.

November 18

8:09 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Vehicle did not stop and took off at a high rate of speed.

8:45 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting their licence plate stolen from the back of their vehicle.

10:26 am – Brazeau County – RR 71 – TELUS reporting ground cable stolen.

11:04 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting they lent their truck to a friend who just called them to advise that someone stole the truck.

2:39 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant advised that they were travelling west on the highway when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

2:37 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an abandoned truck on a lease site.

6:13 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle parked by the cemetery. Dark-coloured truck has been there for the past three days. Member attended, vehicle not reported stolen, and vehicle gone upon arrival.

7:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting their Snapchat account had been hacked. Hacker asked for some personal information which complainant did not provide.

7:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Western Trailer Court – Complainant reporting theft of items from their vehicle. Truck had been gone through, no damage. Camo bag stolen.

November 19

2:38 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on an overdue traveller. Members were able to contact the traveller who was fine.

3:12 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol located a break and enter. Glass door broken. Unknown what items stolen. Members secured door
