Man passes away after parked car hit by semi on side of QEII

An Alberta RCMP spokesperson confirmed to rdnewsNOW on Friday that the man injured in a crash near Wetaskiwin last Saturday night has since passed away.

The man, whose age wasn’t given, is not believed to be from the region, or even the province.

The driver of the semi was not injured after the crash which took place near the Hwy 616 exit at around 6:30 p.m.

RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash Saturday night near Wetaskiwin.

RCMP say the incident took place around 6:30 on Nov. 14 and involved a semi-truck hitting a car on the QEII Highway near the Hwy 616 exit.

It is believed the truck hit the car while it was parked on the side of the highway.

The drive of the semi was not injured, while the male from the car remains in hospital.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
