Rocky RCMP Report October 15-22

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of October 15-22

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

October 15

5:36 P.M. – Report of vandalism to a commercial building located in the downtown area of RMH. The male suspect fled on foot but was spotted by witnesses who seen him enter a liquor store. He stole 2 bottles of liquor and fled down the walking path where he was apprehended by police. Charges are pending.

October 16

2:04 A.M. – Police attended a residence on the O’Chiese after a report of an assault. One individual was arrested and later released. Charges are pending.

9:33 A.M. – A traffic stop was conducted on Hwy #22 by the RMH Crime Reduction Unit. The passenger was arrested after it was determined she was breaching one of her previous release conditions. Methamphetamine and cocaine were located. Further charges are pending against both the female passenger and driver.

11:56 A.M. – A call was received by police to meet EMS at the hospital after a female reportedly had been assaulted during the night on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve. Police conducted an investigation and charges have been laid against an adult male & female.

7:26 P.M. – 911 call of a car stolen while left running at a residence in RMH. It was recovered later the next day on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve.

October 17

8:35 A.M. – Red & Silver 1995 Ford F250 reported stolen from a residence in RMH overnight.

5:14 P.M. – Call of two individuals bear sprayed on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve.

5:54 P.M. – Police arrested a male at a residence in RMH after threats were made to cause harm to individuals. He was released after a judicial hearing on a no-cash release order.

5:48 P.M. – Police received 911 calls advising of a male who was causing problems at the Rocky Hospital. Police attended and arrested the intoxicated individual. He was later released after sobering up.

October 19

7:23 A.M. – B&E overnight to a residence in RMH. A speaker, $400 in change, and shoes were stolen.

8:07 A.M. – Lock cut off job van while parked at a location in Clearwater County. A trailer was broken into and a generator and three water pumps were stolen.

8:25 A.M. – Landfill site in Clearwater County broken into over the weekend. Front door of the shop was kicked in and the culprit(s) stole rubber boots and hand tools.

9:15 A.M. – Shop yard broken into over the weekend at an energy company located in RMH. An axe was taken to a holiday trailer door and a work truck was broken into. Under investigation.

6:40 P.M. – Call of a male who left without paying for his meal at a RMH restaurant. He was located and arrested for “Obtain Food by Fraud” and failing to comply with a previous release conditions. He was released and is scheduled to appear in RMH Provincial Court on a later date.

October 20

8:06 P.M. – Report of an intoxicated male throwing things around in a local RMH convenience store and then kicking cars. He left the store but returned an hour later and was subsequently arrested for Mischief. After sobering up, he was released to appear in RMH Provincial Court on a later date.

October 21

4:00 P.M. – 40 oz. bottle of Crown Royal reported stolen from a RMH liquor store.

October 22

12:06 P.M. – Police received a complaint of fraud after an individual was scammed into sending over $11,000 to someone in Thailand.

11:06 P.M. – EMS and police attended an ATV side-by-side rollover in Clearwater County. The driver was deceased on scene while the passenger was treated for minor injuries. Neither occupant were wearing seat belts.
