Maskwacîs schools closed this week to ‘help control spread’ of COVID-19
Schools in Maskwacîs are closed this week in a bid to help control the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
“The Maskwacîs Chiefs have declared a lockdown to help control the spread of COVID-19,” reads a post on the Maskwacîs Education Schools Commission (MESC) website.
Officials say the commission is working closely with the Maskwacîs Emergency Operations Center to keep students, staff and families safe.
“All MESC schools and administration buildings will be closed to students and the public from October 13th – 16th, 2020. Essential services will continue,” the website post reads. “Maskwacîs Directors of Emergency management will reassess the situation at the end of the week to determine next steps.”
