Drayton Valley RCMP Report: September 24 – September 30

September 24

9:04 am – Lodgepole – Members were requested to assist Brazeau County CPO with a traffic stop in Lodgepole. One of the occupants of a vehicle had warrants for arrest. Member attended and assisted.

10:44 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting suspicious persons in a grey car on the side of the highway. The persons were wanting a ride. Had been there for a couple of hours. Member attended, occupants were gone, plate was stolen. Vehicle towed.

11:21 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting speeding issues within a construction zone. Member attended and made patrols in area.

1:24 pm – Brazeau County – RR 65 – Complainant reporting their 2008 blue Ford Edge had been stolen and recovered burnt in Breton RCMP’s area.

1:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Ave – Complainant reporting they rented a storage unit to a male and are having issues with him. Male has been acting strange. They have advised the male that he is being evicted in 30 days. Male is angry now.

3:21 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reporting a dirt bike driving on the paved walkway. Male driver has been stunting and driving back and forth.

3:23 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting their vehicle had been hit while parked in the parking lot. Damage to their black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.

5:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Ave – Complainant reporting a female is slumped forward in the driver’s seat of a black Ford Escape. Member attended and located the vehicle with a male and female inside. Member knocked on the window, both occupants woke up.

6:15 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. 2 males observed in a neighbour’s yard. Vehicle is a red Chevrolet truck. Member was en route when they were advised vehicle had left. Traffic stop conducted with suspect vehicle. Occupants had permission from owner of property to get some vegetables from the garden.

7:27 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer court – Complainant reporting theft of holiday camper. Member attended location, complainant not there and member could not get ahold of complainant. Matter is still under investigation.

September 25

12:03 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reporting suspicious persons in the parking lot of the hotel. One person is in a blue truck with spray paint on it. Member attended the location and made patrols in the area. Vehicle not located.

2:49 am – Brazeau County – RR 65 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity in the area. Dogs are barking. Members attended area. Nothing suspicious heard or observed.

3:19 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Ave – Complainant reporting male is yelling and slamming doors. Second report received in past 2 days. Members attended and spoke with the person and advised them to get some sleep.

6:32 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting a vehicle collision with a moose. Member attended. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

9:08 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant attended the detachment to report their 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 had been stolen and recovered in Rocky Mountain House.

9:24 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting a dispute. Complainant is attempting to get belongings from apartment they were sharing with another. Male won’t allow them. Several reports were received during the day regarding this incident.

11:37 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Member attended to assist Town Peace Officer at a traffic stop. Truck towed for being unregistered, driver issued tickets by Peace Officer.

12:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Ave – Male who was screaming at 3:19 am was again outside causing a ruckus. Members attended and the male again agreed to remain inside and try to sleep.

12:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting a landlord-tenant dispute. Member attended, landlord mowing the lawn, not in the residence.

1:30 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 505 – Complainants reported a semi trying to pass unsafely on left side as they were trying to turn off of Hwy 22 with signal light on. Under investigation.

2:39 pm – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Staff requesting assistance with a female refusing to leave. Female left once police were called.

5:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant reporting an assault. Complainant stated they had gone to a room to get their belongings and the occupant slammed the door in their face and when left, they slapped them on the back of the head. Members attended and spoke with all parties involved.

6:32 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Complainant reported a “homeless drug addict” setting up a tent across from the soccer fields. Member attended and advised the female that she couldn’t set up a tent under the soccer nets. Female got upset and left. Two calls received for this incident. Numerous reports were made regarding this incident.

8:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant requested a wellbeing check on his ex after receiving a text stating “I need help.” Member was eventually able to reach the female who was dealing with some failing stitches from an injury and wanted help moving some items.

10:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 St – Security company employee reported someone in a business yard, unsure if person had left. Members attended but the trespasser wasn’t located.

11:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St/Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a black Toyota Tundra driving erratically, driver possibly impaired. Member patrolled the area but truck not located. Member attempted to contact the truck’s owner who resides in Breton.

September 26

1:59 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reported a group of 30 people outside, worried a fight might occur. Members attended, no large groups located, complainant advised she was concerned as things were getting rowdy.

10:27 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported that about 2 hours earlier a male pulled up in a truck, got out and urinated on a building. Complainant stated the same male had done this before. Under investigation.

12:03 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 5 km S – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver in an older gold Caravan. Complainant could smell marijuana and reported the van was tailgating and trying to pass randomly and driving erratically. Member made patrols and requested Breton RCMP do the same. Vehicle not located.

12:48 pm – 50 St – Complainant reported a shed broken into at a hotel and bags of bottles stolen. While member was en route, complainant advised the suspect had returned. Member located a male who denied breaking into the shed but had been removing more bottles and being generally belligerent with staff. Member made the male suspect return the bottles, no evidence to connect him to the initial forced entry.

1:54 pm – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 491A – Member on patrol checked a black GMC parked on frontage road. Truck not stolen but was unregistered and blocking a lane of travel. Truck towed.

2:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported a male sleeping in the bush who hadn’t moved in awhile, concerned for their wellbeing. Member attended and located a known female napping. Female was fine.

5:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported two aggressive dogs followed her and were running at her. Member attended and located the dogs loose without tags. Dogs turned over to Animal Control for follow-up, complainant advised.

5:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported an apparently high male causing issues at the site of the pump track under construction. Male currently in the porta-potti where he had been for the past hour. Member attended and located the male who was extremely high. Male was arrested on warrants from Drayton Valley, Strathcona County and Edmonton. Male held in custody for a bail hearing.

7:18 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 502 – Complainant reported a red pickup with a grey canopy, heading North, unable to maintain speed, crossing the line – suspects driver is impaired. Member patrolled the area but truck wasn’t located. Member attended the owner’s residence but determined he hadn’t lived there in years.

7:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported a male possibly breaching his conditions to not consume alcohol. Under investigation.

8:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Ave/46 St – Complainant reported a black Toyota Tundra was swerving all over the road, had almost rear-ended him on the highway and narrowly missed hitting things in town. Members were unable to locate the vehicle or the owner at the time, call to owner of the vehicle went to voicemail. Under investigation.

8:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Complainant reported hearing a noise and going outside to find his red 2020 Chevrolet Truck hit with some debris left from the other vehicle. This is believed to be related to the above call, both files under investigation.

9:26 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member attended along with Drayton Valley Fire Department to a collision between an SUV and a deer. Driver and passenger uninjured but vehicle damaged and deer deceased.

September 27

8:07 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Hwy 620 – Complainant reported 3 dogs on an apparent walkabout in the area, last seen heading East on Twp Rd 500. Member attended and located the three described dogs back at their residence. The dogs’ human was warned to keep better watch over the dogs.

11:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious person had entered their yard. Nothing taken, just some things moved around.

5:07 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a custody dispute. The other party is refusing to bring the children. Custody order is in place.

7:09 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a white Ford F-150 is driving erratically. Crossing double solid lines into oncoming traffic. Members located vehicle. Violation ticket issued.

8:05 pm – Brazeau County – 911 open line. Members attended location. Male had run over their phone by accident.

9:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting a male and female in a green truck appear to be going through backyards and garbage cans. Members attended, vehicle located and a traffic stop conducted. Advised they were picking up bottles and such.

September 28

8:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to their compound. Cables were taken off welding machines and several tools stolen. A bike was left behind.

9:40 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting they were driving on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle.

11:26 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a warning for driving without a seatbelt.

11:42 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting they saw a stolen bike. Member attended location. Person on the bike had bought the bike from previous owner. Same confirmed.

12:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 37 Avenue – Complainant reporting they observed an individual in a black GMC truck blow through a stop sign and almost collide with complainant.

3:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report of a collision in a parking lot. No injuries, One party issued with a violation ticket for following too close.

3:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Hospital – Complainant called to report a male had attended the hospital with a stab wound. Male had been discharged. Members attended and spoke with male, who advised he had been working with the knife when it slipped and when they tried to grab it it went into their leg.

4:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Neighbour keeps coming out of their house and yelling profanities. Members attended and spoke with male.

6:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting an out of control male. Male is outside yelling and waving their arms around. Members attended, male suffering from drug induced paranoia.

6:39 pm – Brazeau County – RR 70 – Complainant reporting someone burning cable on the riverbank past the Ski Trails. Member attended, no one located.

September 29

6:54 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant called to report a male and female in Rotary park. Complainant left without incident.

9:04 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting 2 known males were banging on their door earlier in the morning demanding money from one of their friends.

11:31 am – Brazeau County – RR 91 – Complainant reporting someone came onto their property and stole several items. A riding lawn mower, miscellaneous tools, power tools and socket sets.

2:07 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they fell asleep while driving and drove into the ditch. Complainant had a baby and youth with them at the time. Charges pending.

3:18 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant attended the detachment to report theft of licence plate off their trailer. Complainant was alerted when they received a photo radar ticket from Grande Prairie.

3:24 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a semi truck. Member patrolled and conducted a traffic stop with the driver who was given a warning regarding their manner of driving.

3:37 pm – Drayton Valley – A complaint received of a possible intoxicated driver has led to a violation ticket being issued for Driving carelessly after the vehicle they were driving sideswiped another.

4:34 pm – Brazeau County – Residential alarm reported. Members contacted the owner of the property who advised they were fine, no emergency.

4:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Complainant reporting suspicious person wearing a green jacket with a red shirt and blue jeans had come onto their property. Complainant was concerned they may be squatting. Neighbour attended and checked property.

6:16 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting a family dispute. Argument between father and daughter. Daughter went to stay with other family member for the night.

8:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Custody issue. Members attended and spoke with both parties. Agreement reached.

8:31 pm – Brazeau County – RR 62 – Complainant reporting a collision with a moose. Significant damage to vehicle. No injuries. Moose deceased.

September 30

3:09 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle driving up and down the road. Member attended area and made patrols, vehicle not located.

5:48 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett road – Complainant reporting a suspicious male wearing black clothes and a full red face mask.

5:49 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle is in the middle of the west bound lane. Member attended and attempted to contact the Registered Owner, however the phone number was not in service. Vehicle was towed.

2:07 pm – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Violation ticket issued to driver for failure to wear seatbelt.

2:59 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to report a vehicle with US plates is at the campground. Concerned for COVID. Member attended and spoke with person who has dual citizenship and had quarantined for 2 weeks with family in Drayton Valley. Same was confirmed.

4:02 pm – Tomahawk area – Complainant reporting they were making payments on a truck and the person they were making payments to returned the truck to the dealership and did not reimburse the complainant.

5:27 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle possibly related to an earlier theft. Members attended area and conducted extensive patrols. Vehicle not located.

5:48 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a suspicious male came into the driveway with a flat tire and wanting to buy a tire from them. Complainant told the male to leave. Member attended and located male with truck and flat tire. Male provided member with a false name. Vehicle towed.

7:52 pm – Drayton Valley- Omniplex – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver in a white Chevrolet pickup truck. Member attended, located vehicle, driver not impaired.

9:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting an assault. Member attended location, argument, nothing physical.

9:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Western Trailer court – Complainant reporting a break and enter to the mailboxes. 2 males and 1 female in a tan older ford vehicle. Members attended, one of the mailboxes had been opened.

10:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting shoplifting of vodka from liquor store.
