Sentencing delayed again in Sunchild First Nation stabbing death
Sentencing has been delayed by at least four more months for a woman who admitted to fatally stabbing another woman at the Sunchild First Nation.
Chelsey Lagrelle, 24, was to be sentenced in Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday for the death of Samantha Sharpe in 2018.
Her sentencing had originally been scheduled for March before being delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yesterday, however, court heard that the Crown had not had enough time to review and respond to sentencing documents from the defence that had been submitted only recently.
