September 3

8:16 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported vandalism, occurred overnight. Six windows broken in a school, under investigation.

8:30 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reports a suspicious vehicle parked on private land for the past few days. Member investigated and determined the owner is bowhunting with permission from the landowner.

8:41 am – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complainant reports a break and enter to a business, occurred overnight. Under investigation.

9:17 am – Brazeau County – Powerhouse Rd – Complainant reported an abandoned utility trailer roadside. Member investigated and determined the owner had the trailer in the area while hunting.

11:36 am – Drayton Valley – Rotary Park area – Complainant reported a suspicious male in the area, possibly on drugs, yelling “extreme profanities”. Member patrolled the area but the suspect wasn’t located.

11:58 am – Drayton Valley – Eldorado School area – Complainant reported a disturbance behind the school involving bear mace and possibly two males fighting. Members attended and arrested one male, second male not located but facing several serious charges. Warrant being sought, suspect is known to police.

1:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a suspicious male and female hanging around an apartment building about 20 minutes prior. Member attended, suspects were gone.

2:04 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reported finding a car smashed into a gate, near the gravel pits. Member attended and determined the vehicle was reported stolen in May of 2016. Car appeared to have been at the location for some time.

2:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported someone appeared to have been crashing in a house that should be empty. Member attended and found no one inside. Under investigation

2:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 St – Complainant reports harassment, suspect sending inappropriate text messages to her son, and threatening to call police and other agencies. Under investigation.

6:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported batteries stolen causing a pumpjack to stop.

8:01 pm – Violet Grove area – Complainant reported her daughter received a Facetime call from an unknown person, female could be heard and appeared to be in distress. Member investigated and determined the call originated from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Thunder Bay Police contacted to investigate further.

10:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Request to assist paramedics with a female patient. Request cancelled prior to members arriving.

11:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported an older male leaving a business in a black truck who appeared impaired. Member patrolled the area and located the vehicle and driver. Driver provided a roadside breath sample which showed he had not been drinking.

September 4

12:08 am – Drayton Valley – 56 St – Complainant reported squatters have moved into a nearby residence and left a dog tied up outside. Member attended and determined the dog was in good health. Under investigation to speak to animal control and determine status of the squatters.

12:50 am – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a male looking in a vehicle with a flashlight. Descriptions provided, suspect was walking a bicycle. Member attended and patrolled the area extensively but didn’t locate the suspect.

7:04 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported observing a male who appeared to be unloading copper wire into a room at a closed up motel, observation made about 30 minutes prior. Member attended, no one located and all rooms secure.

9:02 am – Drayton Valley – Beckett Rd – Complainant reported sending a $500 deposit for the purchase of a trailer advertised on Kijiji. Complainant arrived from Okotoks to find the address was non-existent and others had also come for the trailer. Under investigation.

9:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a hit and run to his car while it was parked by The Brick. Vehicle is a blue 2013 Volkswagon Golf. Damage to the entire driver’s side.

9:42 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported someone left feces on her car while it was parked.

11:41 am – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Hangup 911 call from a senior’s residence. Staff confirmed no emergency. Ongoing issue as people need to dial 9 before dialing out.

1:21 pm – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a break in to an industry site; damage to door. Wire and lighting stolen. Occurred August 24.

1:24 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Trailer Court – Complainant reported copper wire and aluminum left at am abandoned trailer. Member attended and disposed of the property, which was mostly the stripping’s left by wire thieves.

2:22 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reported threats from her long-estranged husband who lives out of province. Dispute over property, both parties spoken to, no charges.

3:11 pm – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported finding some tools stashed in an alleyway. Tools now in RCMP custody should someone be able to identify them (socket set and stapler).

3:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Request to assist animal control. Female is upset as she was issued a warning for her dogs who have been complained about barking.

4:46 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reported a black truck with canopy came up behind complainant at a high rate of speed and started honking, then pulled out and passed. Partial plate provided but member unable to find a match, vehicle not located.

4:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported she was evicted from her apartment; now other tenants are refusing to allow her to get property still inside. Complainant spoken to, matter best dealt with via provisions in the Residential Tenancies Act.

8:00 pm – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported being assaulted by her ex. Members attended and investigated. Ex charged.

8:44 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a female driver in a dark coloured truck driving erratically, possibly impaired. Members spoke to the complainant and made patrols, truck not located.

9:12 pm – Brazeau County – Easyford area – Complainant reported a grey, older model Chevy Equinox, speeding up and down RR85. Member attended the area, vehicle not located.

10:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Ave/53 St – Complainant reported someone in the area setting off fireworks and having a bonfire. Members had already been in the area and dealt with the fireworks, further patrols didn’t note any further issues.

10:56 pm – Brazeau County – Dam area – Complainant reported his SUV stolen while camping. Member attended and determined complainant’s girlfriend became upset by rude behaviour of a fellow camper and took off in complainant’s vehicle. When members arrived to this questionable file the girlfriend and SUV were back and the couple was in a loving embrace.

11:23 pm – Brazeau County – Dam area – Third party complaint of a disturbance, which was determined to be related to the prior call and members were already arriving. Alcohol “may” have been a factor.

11:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Complainant reported possible theft, people were loading equipment at the end of her street. Based on the report and members’ observations it was likely paving contractors loading up after a long day paving area streets.

September 5

2:25 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported staff were racist toward her by refusing her use of the bathroom. Members attended and spoke to staff who said bathroom access had been granted, against policy and that the complainant had urinated all over the floor and then thrown a bag of chips at staff. Complainant had left in a cab prior to members arriving. Security video appeared to confirm staff’s version of events. Members attended the suspect’s residence and suggested they consider providing an apology.

8:08 am – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported tires slashed on her sister’s truck. Several other vehicles on the street had tires slashed. Under investigation. Vehicle was a black 2017 Ford F-150.

9:51 am – Tomahawk – Complainant reported someone sleeping in front of the church, tried but unable to wake the person. Member attended and found a female sleeping on the sidewalk. Female spoken to, stated she was trying to hitchhike to Edmonton but just needed a break, was continuing on soon.

10:18 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported her vehicle was entered overnight and several items stolen including wallet, sunglasses, cell phone. Under investigation.

3:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported harassing communications and possible threats from a past friend. Investigation found no grounds for charges, the two will not communicate further.

4:56 pm – Brazeau County – Brazeau Dam Campground – Complainant reporting hearing gunshots and then an explosion. Members attended and met with the suspects, all of which were intoxicated. Shotgun seized for improper storage. All were cooperative.

5:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant observed a person passed out in a dumpster. Members attended and awoke the female and assisted her out of the dumpster. Female likely on drugs but sent on her way as she was able to care for herself.

10:33 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reported attempted theft of cables from a gas plant, occurred around 9:20 pm. Under investigation.

September 6

12:20 am – Drayton Valley – 48A St – Complainant reported a backyard party nearby, member attended and the resident agreed to keep it down and was going inside.

12:36 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two males “shotgunning beers” in a parking lot. Member attended and located the two nearby and they were given transportation back to their hotel.

1:07 am – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/Hwy 620 – Complainant reported two males walking down middle of highway. Member attended and located the pair. The same two males had been provided transport a half-hour earlier and were transported once again.

1:45 am – Drayton Valley – 62 St – Security for a business reported hearing someone in the trees behind the yard. Complainant told the persons to leave, members attended and located two males nearby. It was again the same two from the previous files, who were again transported back to their hotel.

3:18 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported an intoxicated male in a convenience store; banging on windows, and calling her names, recording her. Complainant advised the male then proceeded across the street to harass staff in the Tim Hortons drive-thru. Members attended and transported one of the two males from the previous calls to detachment cells to prevent further issues.

5:06 am – Brazeau County – RR 75/Hwy 621 – Members responded to a big bang, possible collision. A two-vehicle collision was located. A male driving north on RR75 in an SUV failed to stop at Hwy 621 and hit a westbound sedan. The male SUV driver was transported to Edmonton with serious injuries and the occupants of the car were also transported for treatment. Collision analyst attended, file under investigation. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in this collision.

5:08 am – Drayton Valley – 62 St – Complainant reported a suspicious male sitting outside a business yard. Members were unable to attend at the time due to the above collision. Male eventually left the area.

9:25 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a lease site.

2:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Mackenzie Ave – Complainant reported landlord changed the locks and had another person in a residence she has possession of until September 15. Complainant was advised to contact the Residential Tenancies Branch.

3:08 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a silver Pontiac with BC plate passed in the ditch and were “brake checking” in front of him. Given the location, the neighbouring detachment was advised but failed to locate the vehicle. Plate didn’t match car description.

5:28 pm – Brazeau County – Beaver Estates – Complainant reporting suspicious person observed near their vehicle.

7:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Mackenzie Ave – Complainant reported a break and enter, investigation determined previous tenant entered through a window to retrieve property. An agreement was reached allowing the previous tenants to get their property. No charges.

10:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant reported vehicle speeding and crossing the line, possibly impaired. Member located the vehicle at a business, driver not with vehicle. Member issued a warning by phone to the vehicle’s owner.

11:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 St – Complainant reported a neighbour’s garage door open for 3 hours. Member attended and found nothing suspicious, appeared to have been left open.

September 7

12:45 am –Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported several youth shooting fireworks at residence, almost caught curtains on fire and nearly hit complainant. Members attended and located one of the youth driving nearby, he denied any fireworks and claimed he and several friends had been playing hide and seek. Under investigation.

2:44 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed a vehicle speeding, 131 km/h. Member was able to successfully stop the driver after a significant distance and due to the 2000 Honda suffering mechanical issues. Driver was ticketed for having no registration, no driver’s license, and for misuse of license plate. Driver also has a pending court appearance for a no insurance ticket. The passenger was observed to be a local prolific offender, though not currently wanted or committing a crime.

4:25 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male acting strangely with some pallets near a hotel, possibly pretending to be doing some construction. Member attended, suspect not located but a nicely built fort was observed.

6:11 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a fight between 2 known females. Members attended, parties had left prior to arrival. Matter is still under investigation.

9:29 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting theft from worksite overnight. Several chains and boomers were stolen from their worksite. A black Dodge 3500 Sport was left behind. Member attended and located the vehicle. Containment set up and Police Dog services were called and attended. Vehicle towed.

1:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 St – Complainant reported a female in the middle of the road, rolling around, appears to be on drugs; left on foot from the area. Member patrolled the area but the female wasn’t located.

3:32 pm – Tomahawk – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver. Driver apparently went off-road and jumped a driveway approach, resulting in the bumper coming off. Complainant said driver of the silver Ford Taurus stumbled out of the car. Member attended the area but the vehicle had left prior to arrival, unknown direction of travel.

4:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a female who is refusing to leave the store. Has been caught stealing previously. Female described as wearing a red hoodie and black jacket. Member attended, suspect had left prior to arrival. Patrols in area were negative.

6:07 pm – Drayton valley – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a burgundy Ford Taurus. Members attended location and patrolled the area with negative results. Registered owner called and warned about the manner of driving.

6:20 pm – Drayton Valley Hospital – Member called by hospital staff and requested to attend for an assault. Member attended, statement taken.

10:30 pm – Brazeau County – RR 92 – Complainant reporting suspicious males on quads. One male had been observed on their property at 8:30 pm and they had stated they had become separated from their group. Member attended, male arrested for outstanding warrants from Edmonton. Quad towed as no plates, registration, or insurance.

September 8

3:03 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting an assault with a weapon. Complainant heard banging and then saw 4 people jump on a person with a large metal pipe. All wearing masks. Members attended and located male who had injuries to his face. Matter is still under investigation.

5:15 AM – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting they can hear someone walking around their garage.

6:40 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Member attended scene of a single-vehicle accident. Motorcycle vs elk. Driver of motorcycle taken to U of A hospital by ambulance.

8:45 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting a male passed out in the lobby of Regency Terrace. Members attended, known male and female were sleeping. Members advised them to move on.

8:51 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an assault. Male youth reporting they were jumped by an unknown male while walking through the park towards the school. Matter is still under investigation.

10:33 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male lying in the grass outside group home. Member attended, known male sleeping. Asked to move on.

10:43 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting a semi-truck is parked in the bushes near Berrymoor. Member attended, vehicle had been stolen.

10:45 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant calling to report an elderly male is driving while intoxicated. Members located vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Truck towed for 30 days.

11:20 am – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Trailer Court – Complainant reporting a family dispute regarding custody issues.

11:43 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting vehicles speeding in school zones before school, during lunch, and after school. Would like patrols to be conducted.

2:52 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting a person is threatening to use their SIN number. Had been asking for assistance with COVID paperwork. Person assisting is threatening to use their SIN number. Matter still under investigation.

3:50 pm – Drayton Valley – CPO requesting assistance with person selling blankets with no business licence. Members attended, male arrested on outstanding warrants.

7:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Lions Park – Complainant reporting unwanted dumpster diver pulling garbage out of the can. Member attended area, male located inside blue bin.

September 9

2:58 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting audible alarm going off at pawnshop. Members attended and found doors secure, no one inside, no signs of forced entry.

7:00 am – Drayton Valley – 40 Street – Complainant reporting theft of black Polaris Razor side by side stolen off a trailer while parked overnight.

7:18 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they found a pressure washer in the field near the ball diamond. Member attended and seized item.

8:42 am – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Members were called to a report of a male who had been shot in the chest. Members immediately attended, EMS transported male to hospital. Matter is still under investigation.

9:16 am – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle blocking the entrance to a business. Rental vehicle.

9:26 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 911 abandoned call from laundromat. Female had come in and asked to use the phone and asked for police. Female then left. Member attended area, female not located. Complainant reported that the female did not appear to be in distress.

9:38 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a purse found. Needles and drug paraphernalia inside. Member attended and picked up purse. Items disposed of.

10:48 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting 2 males and a truck trespassing and burning copper wire by the river. Vehicle is an older 2 tone green and cream ford truck. Members attended and located 2 known males. Both were very apologetic as they did not know they were trespassing. Complainant just wanted them gone.

11:15 am – Brazeau County – Elk River Road – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle on the highway. Vehicle is a red and black 1980’s Dodge Ram truck. Has been there for the past 3 days. Member attended. Registered Owner notified.

11:41 am – Drayton Valley – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting person did not return home last night and is concerned. Member attended, male located.

11:54 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Residential panic alarm received. Member attended, property rep is cleaning the residence. No emergency.

1:07 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a black truck that matches the description of their ex’s was parked outside their house on the road. Member called the ex who advised they were out of town working.

1:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Person calling from 7-11 who had recently been released from hospital. Thought they were involved in the major incident from earlier in the morning. Member took female back to the hospital for further assessment. Female had not been involved in incident.

1:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle on the side of the road. Vehicle is a black 2013 Dodge pickup and smaller enclosed trailer.

3:10 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting a black truck with a red sticker parked on the side. Complainant thought the vehicle was the suspect vehicle from the earlier incident. Vehicle not related.

5:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Trailer court – Complainant reporting that ex is refusing to return child after visitation.

5:32 PM – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. White Chevrolet Truck is abandoned in the ditch. Member attended truck was gone upon arrival. Owner of truck attended detachment and advised they were visiting people.

6:11 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting person is breaching conditions. Members attended location. Male had left

6:38 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reporting 3 dogs chased them and cornered them. Member attended and spoke with the complainant who was not injured, but was shook up. Animal Control notified.

7:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Report of people taking photos of vehicles that were vandalized a few days prior. Police attended the area but were unable to locate the people. No offence alleged.

7:46 pm – Parkland County – Twp 512 – 911 disconnected call received. Police and EMS responded and located a person in medical distress. The person was transported by EMS to the hospital.

8:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Report of a dangerous driver. General description provided but no plate was provided. Police could not locate the vehicle.

8:54 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Report of 2 people jumped the fence of a yard. Police attended and located the suspects, they were in the wrong yard and meant to be in the neighbour’s yard. Nothing stolen and no indication of foul play. Both trailers looked very similar.

10:03 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of a suspicious vehicle, hooked up to trailer and drove away. Police attended and patrolled the area, nothing was located. No trailers were reported stolen in the area.

September 10

2:15 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report of an assault that occurred earlier in the evening at the OCT. Matter is still under investigation.

5:52 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – 2 vehicle collision. Police attended along with Drayton Valley Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Although the damage to both vehicles was substantial, no occupants suffered any serious injuries.
