Rocky RCMP Report August 28- September 3

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of August 28- September 3

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

August 28

11:20 A.M. – B&E to RMH Conservation & Forestry shared warehouse yard. A hole was cut in the fence and door handles were pried open. A generator, chainsaw, vehicle kit, and jerry cans were stolen.

9:33 P.M. – Police arrested a passenger in a vehicle at the Sunchild gas pumps for outstanding arrest warrants and failing to comply with a previous release condition. This individual was remanded in custody until the following week.

August 29

1:49 A.M. – Police were called to an intoxicated male outside a residence in RMH. He was arrested and RWS. No charges were laid.

10:28 A.M. – Call of a vehicle, which had gone through fence on Hwy #11, east of Nordegg. The vehicle was towed.

1:36 P.M. – Two quads were stolen from a shed in RMH. A red HONDA Foreman & a 2008 HONDA 500.

August 30

4:27 A.M. – Alarm received from a RMH liquor store. Police attended and discovered panes of glass smashed in the front doors. 4 bottles of liquor were stolen by a male who was observed on surveillance. He had a boot cast on his left foot. Under investigation.

8:05 A.M. – 2011 YAMAHA HET61 quad reported stolen from Forestry / Environment & Parks compound in RMH.

8:29 P.M. – Report of an intoxicated individual found sleeping under a RV trailer at Nordegg Lodge. Police attended and arrested the male who was released after sobering up.

August 31

9:00 A.M. – A white DODGE pickup truck, which had been stolen from Eckville the previous day, was reported abandoned in a RMH apartment parking lot.

9:51 A.M. – Trailer ramp reported damaged along with the pickup truck while parked at the Hummingbird area of Clearwater County during the previous week.

1:50 P.M. – 2012 green FORD F150 stolen from Lindale Hall in Drayton Valley.

5:44 P.M. – An old maroon pedal bike and axe were taken overnight from the yard of a residence in RMH.

7:17 P.M. – RMH Crime Reduction Unit conducted a traffic stop in RMH and arrested the 2 adult males for “possession of stolen property” and “possession of methamphetamine” as a result of a previous search warrant. One of the individuals had outstanding warrants from Edmonton. Both were released for a later court date.

September 1

1:52 A.M. – Report of an assault, involving a weapon, at residence in Clearwater County. One adult male reportedly had been struck in the face by his brother. A warrant has been issued for the suspect who fled the scene.

3:41 A.M. – Police attempted to stop a green VW Jetta on Hwy #11 however, it fled at a high rate of speed. It was later located abandoned in the ditch at the Leslieville Hwy turnoff.

10:00 A.M. – Complaint of individuals in a 2-tone blue minivan who kept on coming to the campground and stealing from the recycling bin west of Nordegg.

2:22 P.M. – Theft from a vehicle and garage overnight in RMH. A light blue cruiser lady’s bicycle was stolen.

2:39 P.M. – Multiple complaints received advising of a stolen U-Haul truck and FORD F150, towing a trailer with 2 stolen snowmobiles, travelling together on Hwy #22, north of RMH. Police located the vehicles involved, however the FORD F150 fled from police after ditching the trailer. The U-Haul truck stopped and the occupants were arrested for “possession of stolen property” and for their respective outstanding arrest warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges. After a Judicial Interim Release hearing, the female was released on “no-cash bail” while the male prolific offender was remanded to appear in provincial court at a later date.

5:03 P.M. – Report of a male in a burgundy & silver pickup truck pointing a BB gun at other drivers in the Leslieville area. Under investigation.

September 2

2:39 P.M. – B&E to residence in RMH. Entry gained via a basement window and a number of items were stolen.

4:17 P.M. – Complaint of harassment and threats made over social media.

September 3

8:55 A.M. – Complaint of speeding vehicles through the school zone at David Thompson High School.

1:45 P.M. – Report of a stolen licence plate in RMH.
