Brazeau County sending a letter to Municipal Affairs Minister on proposed assessment model changes

Brazeau County council revealed at their meeting this week that they will be sending a letter to the new Minister of Municipal Affairs, Tracy Allard. The letter will outline council’s concerns with the provincially proposed changes to the assessment model for oil and gas companies, and the timeline for those changes.
Reeve Bart Guyon, Deputy Reeve Kara Westerlund, and Councillor Sara Wheale will also have a meeting with Minister Allard on September 24.
Council says after the two public information meetings they held last month on the proposed assessment model changes, they have gathered 196 letters from residents who are also concerned about the potential changes.
The council members attending the meeting said that they will hand-deliver those letters to the Minister, and council thanks the residents who attended the meetings, calling them extremely successful.
