COVID-19 numbers hold steady locally as provincial cases continue to rise

Alberta saw another sizeable jump in COVID-19 cases on Monday with 164 reported.

That brings the total number of cases in the province to 14,066.

The number of active cases in Alberta sits at 1,398, an increase of 28.

Recoveries are listed at 12,427, which is 134 more than the previous report from Alberta Health.

Fifty Albertans are now in hospital because of the virus, an increase of six. That includes 10 people who are intensive care.

Alberta completed 9,334 tests for COVID-19 on Monday.

Two more deaths have been reported to bring the province’s death toll from the novel coronavirus to 241.

In the Central Zone the number of active cases of COVID-19 remains unchanged at 27. The total number of confirmed cases in the zone is 590.

Red Deer remains with seven active cases and 74 recoveries, both unchanged.

Red Deer County: 2 active, 26 recovered

Lacombe County: 2 active, 18 recovered

Innisfail: 2 active, 5 recovered

Sylvan Lake: 1 active (new), 9 recovered

Lacombe: 1 active, 5 recovered

Town of Olds: 1 active, 5 recovered

Ponoka County: 0 active, 12 recovered

Kneehill County: 0 active, 18 recovered, 2 deaths

County of Stettler: 0 active, 44 recovered

Rocky Mountain House: 0 active, 3 recovered

Town of Ponoka: 0 active, 7 recovered

Town of Sundre: 0 active, 1 recovered

Town of Didsbury: 0 active, 8 recovered (new).
