Truck crashes into Parkland Mall Sunday afternoon

Charges have been laid after a pickup truck plowed into Parkland Mall Sunday afternoon.

RCMP media relations spokesperson Cpl. Laurel Scott tells rdnewsNOW that Red Deer Mounties were dispatched to the shopping centre just before 1 p.m. after multiple calls of an erratic driver in the area.

When they arrived, the truck was partially through a wall near Chatters hair salon. Scott says no one was hurt.

Witnesses told RCMP that the driver initially fled, but he was arrested shortly thereafter outside the nearby Walmart.

Nicholas Krock has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving while prohibited. Krock is scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Aug. 11.
