Contract awarded for baseball quad at Sylvan Lake’s Pogadl Park

With work already underway on the new stadium for the Sylvan Lake Gulls, the town’s Pogadl Park took another step forward this week when council awarded the tender for the ‘baseball quad’ portion of the new sports and recreation area.

The contract was awarded to Delta Valley Landscaping and Lawn Services for just over $2 million.

Delta Valley is a company specializing in golf course, baseball and football field design and construction that has previously done projects in Grande Prairie and Rocky Mountain House.

The baseball quad portion of Pogadl Park will feature six baseball diamonds, outdoor hockey rink, soccer fields, multi-purpose field, volleyball courts and a splash park.

The hope is to have baseball games played out of the facility starting as early as next year.
