Red Deer with 8 active cases, 37 recoveries in latest COVID-19 update

Alberta is reporting an additional 82 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. That brings the province’s overall total to 8,994.

The number of active cases in the province sits at 704, an increase of three, while the number of recoveries has risen by 79 to 8,127.

The province completed 6,372 tests in the past 24 hours.

Across the province there are 64 people in hospital because of the virus. Seven of them are in intensive care.

Alberta’s death toll from COVID-19 remains unchanged at 163.

In the Central Zone, the number of active cases as of Wednesday’s update is 61. The number of recoveries in the zone thus far is 92.

In Red Deer, there are eight active and 37 recovered cases of COVID-19.

Other municipalities in the Central Zone currently with active cases include:

Stettler and County – 11 active cases, 3 recovered

Three Hills area – 8 active cases, 2 recovered

Lacombe – 5 active, 2 recovered

Ponoka – 4 active, 2 recovered

Didsbury – 3 active, 3 recovered

Castor/Coronation/Consort – 4 active, 0 recovered

Olds – 1 active, 4 recovered

Rimbey – 1 active, 0 recovered

Drayton Valley – 1 active, 0 recovered

Flagstaff County – 1 active, 0 recovered

Wetaskiwin County – 1 active, 7 recovered.

There are also active cases in Camrose and county (4), Drumheller area (3), Leduc/Devon (2), Viking (2), Flagstaff County (1), Wainwright (1).
