Drayton Valley supports North-West Alberta Electric Vehicle Charging Network

The Town of Drayton Valley could see more electric vehicle charging stations in the community in the future.

The Town received a letter from the Mayor of Edson requesting support and endorsement for regional collaboration for a North-West Alberta Electric Vehicle Charging Network, in partnership with other area municipalities.

The goal is to promote regional long-term economic growth and tourism as well as connect the region to the rest of Alberta and British Columbia.

The Town already has two electric vehicle chargers at the Ramada Hotel and the Foundation Dealership, but Administration believes the Town could leverage future educational and tourism opportunities by joining the initiative.

Council then approved a motion to proceed with support for the North-West Alberta Electric Vehicle Charging Network Initiative.
