City of Red Deer to host modified summer day camps
The City of Red Deer has announced they will be hosting a number of modified day camps from Monday, July 6 through Friday, August 21 for children ages 6-12 years.
“We acknowledge that summer day camps play an important role for Red Deer’s families,” said Shelley Gagnon, Recreation Parks and Culture Manager. “We recognize that these programs are important for both the children’s well-being as well as an important opportunity to socialize and make community connections. We are excited to be able to offer modified programming for children this summer.”
The City says small camp sizes will be offered in dedicated spaces at the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre and the Intermediate School (Culture Services building). Half-day programming will be available at each facility in both the morning and afternoon, Monday-Friday, for a total of six camp options per week to comply with provincial health regulations with a focus on safety and sanitization.
These day camps will see kids explore numerous activities including performing arts, physical literacy, outdoor field and cooperative games.
