50 new cases of COVID-19 in Alberta on Sunday

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta rose by 19 on Sunday.

Alberta Health is reporting 50 new confirmed cases, and 31 new recoveries.

Edmonton Zone (9) and North Zone (9) are where the largest net increases of active cases occurred on Sunday. After 34 days of declining active cases starting May 1, Sunday is the 11th straight day without a decrease.

Meantime, 46 people are in hospital, a bump upwards of two, and there are seven in ICU, up by one.

There were no new deaths since Saturday, leaving the province at 150 fatalities.

In Central Zone, active cases are up from two to three. The new active case is in the Starland County-Drumheller area. Red Deer (city) and Three Hills-Hwy 21 each have one active case, announced previously.

The province has now conducted 339,849 tests.
