Donald Harrison wins Innisfail by-election

Donald Harrison is the newest member of Innisfail town council.

Harrison was the top vote getter among the four candidates in Monday’s by-election that was called following the resignation of Councillor Doug Bos in March.

Harrison captured 259 (41.4%) of the 626 votes that were cast.

Daryl Hillman earned 188 votes, Patrick Teskey 157 votes and Jim Kristinson 21 votes.

Town officials say 11.9% of eligible voters took part in Monday’s by-election.

Harrison will sit on Innisfail town council for the next 18 months until the next municipal elections in October 2021.
