Four charged after search warrant executed in Trochu

Four people from central Alberta have been arrested in connection to suspected drug trafficking.

Three Hills RCMP, with assistance from Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, made the arrests on the morning of June 5.

Having obtained a search warrant, police gained access to a home on Devilder Avenue in Trochu.

The search found prohibited weapons, proceeds of crime, a quantity of cocaine, meth and other paraphernalia.

Adam Matus, 35, of Three Hills, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Alexander Kovacs, 40, of Three Hills, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Simon May, 30, of Trochu, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and fail to comply with release conditions.

Christopher Weich, 33, of Trochu, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, traffic in a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of the proceeds of crime over five thousand dollars, and failing to comply with release conditions.

Matus and Kovacs have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Drumheller Court on August 21, 2020.

Weich was held for a bail hearing and was later released on $1,000 dollars cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Drumheller Court on August 21, 2020.

May was remanded in custody.

Three Hills RCMP continue to investigate.
