Active COVID-19 cases up in Alberta for first time since end of April

For the first time since April 30, there is an increase in active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

The province confirmed 40 new cases overnight, with active cases rising by eight from 328 to 336.

There were just seven new cases reported on Friday.

There have been 6,656 people to recover, an increase of 32.

A bit of good news for the day is no new fatalities, leaving Alberta’s death toll at 146.

There remain 44 people in hospital and six in intensive care.

Nearly 6,000 more tests were completed since yesterday.

Edmonton: 76 (up 19)

North: 17 (up 1)

South: 18 (up 2)

Unknown: 2 (up 1)
