Alberta reaches two COVID-19 milestones on Sunday

For the first time since March 30, Alberta has fewer than 600 active cases of COVID-19.

The actual number is 584, with 38 people recovering in the past day.

There were also 18 new cases confirmed since Saturday, putting the province over the 7,000 mark to reach 7,010.

Those totals are both the third most of all Canada’s provinces and territories.

There are 52 people in hospital, including six in the ICU.

There were also no new deaths announced Sunday, the third straight day the toll has remained at 143.

Red Deer and Red Deer County each still have one active case, the only two in Central Zone. The zone remains at 98 total cases.

The province has completed 260,365 tests.
