Red Deer County playgrounds to reopen by May 28

Red Deer County has announced that all playgrounds will be re-opened by May 28.

The County will continue to follow all guidelines from Alberta Health Services, including posting signs promoting safe physical distancing and sanitization.

However, playgrounds will NOT be supervised, and those wishing to use the equipment are encouraged to disinfect it before and after usage.

People who have Covid19-related symptoms must not use playground equipment and are encouraged to remain at home.

Red Deer County Community Services Manager Jo-Ann Symington commented, “We realize that many residents are anxious to get outside and use our playgrounds, however we must take the proper steps to ensure the equipment is safe and ready to use. We also remind those wishing to use playgrounds to remain with those living in their household, and following physical distancing guidelines.”
