May 13

4:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – 911 hang-up received from a commercial landline. No issues. No emergency.

6:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A Dodge 1 tonne dually with a flat deck has been at that location since the previous evening. Ignition has been punched out and all locks as well. Members attended, vehicle had been stolen out of Ponoka.

7:06 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting someone is dumping their garbage on their property. Male in a Black Dodge Ram pulled up and dumped their garbage. Member patrolled area looking for suspect vehicle. Vehicle not located.

8:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting a quad stolen out of Calgary was licenced in Drayton Valley. Members attended and seized quad. Purchaser advised they did not know it was stolen.

10:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting they heard gunshots. Members attended location, nothing heard, patrols made, all quiet.

11:24 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting excessive noise. Members attended, one person arrested on outstanding warrant.

May 14

12:08 am – Drayton Valley – Western Trailer court – Complainant reporting a family dispute. Siblings got into a physical confrontation. Parties separated for the night.

2:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Stolen vehicle from Rocky Mountain House recovered, abandoned in the parking lot.

2:52 pm – Drayton Valley – Independent Grocery – Wallet found in the parking lot and turned in to police. Owner contacted to pick up the wallet.

5:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police were called to assist EMS with a patient being combative. Police attended and assisted until the patient had calmed down and was transported to hospital.

5:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Report of two people possibly doing drugs behind a business. Members attended. The two were charging their phones in an outlet and waiting for their ride to Rocky Mountain House. No evidence of recent drug use.

6:03 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Erratic semi driver, heading north on Hwy 22 towards Entwistle. Vehicle was not located, the company who owns the truck was called and advised of the complaint.

7:12 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Avenue – Police were called to assist EMS with a heavily intoxicated male. The male refused EMS assistance; however, EMS advised he was too intoxicated to care for himself. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and lodged until sober.

11:53 pm – Brazeau County – Valley View Estates – Report of suspicious noises, possibly screams, coming from unknown location. Police attended and conducted neighbour inquiries. Nobody else reported hearing anything, possibly wildlife related.

May 15

1:40 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Found bike near recycling bins. Nobody around, bike recovered but in very poor condition.

2:26 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Street – Report of a stolen truck, just occurred. White 1998 Dodge Ram 3500 w/ a red tailgate and tidy tank in the back, Alberta license plate CCL-7561.

4:19 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of a possible stolen vehicle being stripped in the parking lot. Police attended, the truck belongs to the person who was working on it.

8:11 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Work trailer broken into on the site of the new school, tools stolen. Surveillance on site was reviewed but no suspects could be identified.

9:34 am – Brazeau County – Twp 504 – Report of squatters on Provincial Park. Member attended, located two different people, both given a verbal warning and told to vacate the area.

10:39 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Silver 2006 Chevrolet Silverado stolen sometime overnight from a business parking lot near 51 Avenue, Alberta license plate FER-117.

2:35 pm – Brazeau County – Birchwood – Shed entered sometime overnight, no signs of forced entry, chainsaw stolen.

5:00 pm – Drayton Valley – Dodson Plaza – Report of a disorientated female in the parking lot, yelling and taking off articles of clothing. Police attended and arrested 26-year-old Ajai SCHMIDT for indecent exhibition in a public place as well as two breaches of previous release. Police held SCHMIDT for a JIR Hearing; however, she was released for court on August 4, 2020 in Drayton Valley.

6:16 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Traffic hazard, fire hose came loose on a fire truck and fell on to the roadway. No damage/injuries reported. The fire department collected the hose without issue.

7:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complaint of a found substance believed to be drugs. Police attended and seized the substance in order to be disposed of properly.

7:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Alberta Conservation Officers located a stolen vehicle. Vehicle was recovered and the owner notified.

9:38 pm – Brazeau County – Lodgepole – County Peace Officer reported two stolen vehicles at a residence in Lodgepole. Police attended, but the two vehicles had already left and were not located. The homeowner was spoken to but denied knowledge of the vehicles.

11:43 pm – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Report of two people yelling and possibly calling for help. Police attended, two females located, denied yelling for help but did state they were being loud and were waiting for a taxi.

May 16

12:39 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complaint of 3 people pushing over garbage cans. Police attended and found a 17-year-old male who was on several conditions including a curfew. The male was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of a baton and a substance believed to be cocaine. The male was charged with several offences relating to the weapon and drugs, and several charges for failing to comply with a court order. The male was held for a JIR Hearing and remanded into custody for court May 19, 2020. The male cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

12:40 am – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Report of a possible impaired operator of a quad through the campground. As police were attending they were called to assist Rocky Mountain House RCMP with a high priority near the Brazeau Dam.

9:06 am – Brazeau County – Twp 501 – Attempted theft of a Bobcat on a rural property. No evidence left behind.

2:49 pm – Brazeau County – RR 92 – Police were called to a male sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle that is stuck on a lease road. Members attended, the male was with a female who had left to go find help. Police searched the area for the female and found her later walking on the highway. Police gave both a ride back to town to wait for a ride as they were from out of town.

3:00 pm – Brazeau County – RR 92 – B&E into a cabin sometime in the past 2 months, 2002 Honda 350 ATV and other miscellaneous items stolen. Although this and the previous call were both on RR 92, they were not related to one another.

3:32 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant was quading and was threatened by a land owner for going on their property.

4:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Report of someone dumping motor oil into a grease bin. Police spoke with both parties, no oil was dumped, the suspect was taking grease for bear hunting.

4:17 pm – Brazeau County – Golf Course – Attempted shoplifting of a driver. Staff were able to recover the club before the male left. Staff requested the suspect be spoken to and banned, did not wish to proceed with charges.

4:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report of mass gathering of 20-30 people contrary to COVID restrictions. Members attended, 10-15 people were present and reminded about social distancing, but no concerns over the number of people due to the limit for gatherings being increased to 50.

6:54 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Report of an unwanted aggressive male at a residence refusing to leave. Police attended, the male was arrested after a brief altercation with police and was lodged in cells until sober.

8:16 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – 911 hangup from a cell phone, sounded like possible distress on the line but no voice contact made. Police attended, confirmed no emergency, phone was damaged and called 911 by mistake.

9:53 pm – Parkland County – Tomahawk – Report of possible gunshots heard. Police attended, located a band playing in a garage where suspected gunshots were heard from. No signs of firearm use.

10:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting they were at the gas station and left their backpack outside. When they returned, the backpack was stolen.

11:13 pm – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock School – Complainant reporting 3 males and 1 female are climbing up on the north side of the building, currently on the roof. Members attended and located 7 youth sitting on the roof. Members advised them to get down and were given a stern warning.

May 17

1:06 am – Brazeau County – Northside Meadows – Neighbour dispute. Neighbour keeps ringing doorbell then running away. Have been there 4 times already tonight. Members attended, spoke with suspect parties who admitted to ringing doorbell. Member warned them of a mischief charge if they continue.

9:35 am – Brazeau County – 911 open line, nothing heard or said. Ongoing issue with phone line.

10:54 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant advised they hit a deer.

2:11 pm – Brazeau County – RR 92 – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Had been reported previously, not stolen.

4:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they found an air tank on a lease site.

4:44 pm – Drayton Valley – Parkview Manor – Complainant reporting they bought a computer on Facebook for $800 cash. When they got home, it had nothing on it. When they called the seller, they were advised that all sales were final.

4:51 pm – Brazeau County – Elk River Road – Complainant reporting a possible plane crash. Members attended, no evidence of plan crash, spoke with Wildlife who advised they had a plane in the area looking for water areas in case of forest fires.

4:58 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting an injured deer in the ditch.

6:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a person riding a blue mo-ped on the walking paths. Members attended area, not located.

8:58 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Small red car with no bumper. Trunk is being held down by a cord. Member attended and located known male. Vehicle towed as not in proper condition.

9:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting suspicious vehicle that appears to be scoping out businesses. Vehicle is a grey possibly 4 door vehicle with 2 males. Member spoke with Registered Owner of vehicle who advised that they were out for a family drive and looking at some equipment to rent.

9:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex parking lot – Complainant reporting underage party with marijuana and alcohol. Approximately 15 to 20 youth at a table at the back of the park. Member attended, no youth located.

10:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Request to assist EMS with possible drug overdose. Members attended, no assistance required. Male was observed biking away.

May 18

1:03 am – Tomahawk – Complainant called several times to report serious incidents, no such incidents. Male is having mental health issues. Members attended to each of the 4 calls received. Male arrested and taken to hospital for assessment for drug-induced paranoia.

6:06 am – Drayton Valley – Value Drug Mart parking lot – Complainant reporting males were checking a bike in the parking lot. Member attended, bikes belong to persons attending the MAT program.

9:41 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complainant reporting their White Chevrolet 2500 4×4 with lift kit stolen.

10:23 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to neighbours residence. Side window broken. Members attended, photos taken, no signs of theft. Building secured.

2:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant requesting a wellbeing check on daughter. Members attended location and spoke with daughter who was fine. Daughter was wanted on outstanding warrant from EPS. Arrested and released.

3:39 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting threats made by a third party. One party was related to previous complaint. No threats made.

4:13 PM – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Request to conduct a welfare check on individual. Members are aware of individual and they are fine.

6:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Rivers Condominiums – Complainant calling to report 2 suspicious males parked an older Dodge in front of the visitor parking this morning. Member attended, vehicle stolen out of Rimbey.

7:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting a custody dispute. Custody order states one child to be returned on Tuesday. No order in place for the other child. No offence.

8:22 pm – Drayton Valley – Second complaint received regarding the custody dispute.

8:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a grey Corvette and Dodge Dakota are street racing in the RV park. Member attended and patrolled area, vehicles not located.

8:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Trailer Court – Complainant reporting young children are out by themselves. One almost ran out into the road. Members attended, all children were accompanied by their grandparent.

9:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Aspen Motor Inn – Complainant reporting a dispute between male and female. Swearing and yelling going on. Members attended, parties separated.

May 19

2:21 am – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting attempted theft of their yellow Dodge Ram. Door handle has been popped out and damaged. Member made patrols in area, no persons located.

3:17 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting an aggressive male. Male came home intoxicated and is causing problems. Members attended, male advanced on members with weapon. Male arrested and taken to cells.

8:26 am – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complainant reporting their red 1995 Dodge truck was stolen overnight. Bed of truck has homemade plywood covering. Vehicle later recovered in Rocky Rapids.

8:41 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a female is dancing in the street. Member attended, known female arrested for causing a disturbance and taken to cells.

9:13 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting they found an adult bicycle. Member attended and seized bike.

9:50 am – Drayton Valley – IGA – Complainant reporting an accident while in the parking lot at IGA.

12:38 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a male is outside their establishment smoking meth. Male is wearing a black hoodie, sunglasses, and jeans. Member attended, individuals left prior to arrival.

12:49 pm – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle on a lease site. Complainant advised that they saw someone run into the bush when they arrived. Suspect vehicle is a white pickup truck. Member attended and located vehicle which belonged to FORTIS. They were fixing a power line.

1:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting threats received from an unknown person the previous day. Member spoke with complainant, no threats were received.

1:46 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a tower. Equipment was stolen, wireless batteries, POE injectors.

2:13 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant requesting assistance with custody issue. Complainant has guardianship of child and is on their way to get child. Expects a problem. Members attended and monitored situation.

2:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting male and female are continually entering the store and stealing candy. Female identified. Advised to stay away from store.

5:14 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A black F-350 is sitting by the mailbox.

6:02 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members on patrol located a stolen vehicle. Traffic stop attempted, known male driving. Vehicle fled on police. Further patrols did not locate vehicle.

7:10 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant called to advise that their son was not being very nice to them and wanted him to leave. Members attended, son left for the night.

7:23 pm – Brazeau Dam – Complainant reporting a dog bite which occurred on the 16th of May while in the area of the Dam.

8:25 pm – Drayton Valley – Dog Park – Complainant reporting a suspicious golf bag and wire found in the bush. Member attended location.

8:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting ex is violating their custody agreement. Members learned that the ex in fact did make an honest attempt to exchange children, however, the complainant would not meet at specified location. Members advised to complete exchange the following day at the detachment.

10:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting son is intoxicated. Member attended. Son was not aggressive with member. As the member was leaving, the complainant came out of the residence and advised they had been threatened. Son arrested and taken to cells to be released when sober.

May 20

12:27 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Member on patrol located an older model Dodge Ram and the plate did not match vehicle. Black Dodge Ram, keys in ignition and not locked. Members attended residence, party in the backyard, located the owner of the vehicle. Firearm located on back seat. Firearm seized for safekeeping.

2:06 am – Drayton Valley – Home Away Inn – Complainant reporting someone is bending their door. Hearing noise. Members attended, door had no damage to it.

4:52 am – Drayton Valley – Home Away Inn – Second complaint received from complainant regarding damage to the door. Members attempted to contact complainant, however, they could not get ahold of.

8:01 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Business alarm, member attended, just opening up for the day, false alarm.

10:46 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting theft of trail cam.

11:15 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they believe they located their stolen truck. Only the cab of the truck. Member attended location and spoke with resident who advised they bought a truck recently and the seller gave them the cab for extra parts. Matter still under investigation.

11:48 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Disturbance between neighbours regarding stray cats. Member attended, spoke with both parties. Cats are strays, don’t belong to either party.

11:53 am – Drayton Valley – Lavender Lane – Complainant reporting their green Toyota Camry was entered, 2 garage door openers were stolen.

12:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Complainant reporting a black and white dog was jumping all over a female pedestrian. Member patrolled area, neither dog or female located.

1:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Ramada Inn – Complainant reporting there is a male in a vehicle outside the hotel. Male was asked to leave and refused. Members attended and located vehicle. Male was suffering from anxiety issues and needed to calm down. Not intoxicated and not on drugs.

1:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report an assault which occurred in Wetaskiwin.

4:25 pm – Drayton Valley – IGA – Complainant reporting their 2011 GMC Terrain was hit by a white Buick while in the parking lot.

4:41 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Street – Complainant reporting an abandoned snowmobile. Complainant advised they had let a male go on it approximately 3 months ago, and male had left behind a red Polaris RMK800. Male never returned to pick up the snowmobile. Snowmobile had been previously reported stolen. Member attended, snowmobile recovered.

5:19 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting 2 females in the store trying to steal clothing.

5:31 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting a boat and trailer on the side of the road. Member attended, tow truck already there. Trailer had lost a wheel.

5:46 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting landlord is harassing them.

9:26 pm – Brazeau County – Members were on patrol and conducted a traffic stop. Driver attempting to pick up person who had recently fled from police. The fleeing vehicle is an older model Chevrolet. Single occupant.

11:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting female at the location has previously stolen from store. Member attended, no employees had observed female stealing today.

11:15 pm – Drayton Valley – McDonald’s – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver. Suspect vehicle is a dark-coloured dually. Observed swerving all over the place. Members conducted a traffic stop. Driver clearly intoxicated. Given 3 day suspension and vehicle towed.

11:25 pm – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Avenue – Complainant reporting a black Ford Superduty truck is parked next to the storage shed behind the motel. Member attended and spoke to occupants.

May 21

1:19 am – Drayton Valley – Stetson Motors – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a suspicious vehicle. Driver had no licence and attempted to provide a false name. Driver charged.

3:44 am – Drayton Valley – Bank of Montreal – Commercial alarm. Members attended, power outage had tripped alarm. Alarm false.

5:05 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Avenue – Complainant reporting loud music.
