Rocky Mountain House RCMP report: May 14-18

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of May 14-18.

Not all crimes reported during that period are listed in this report.

May 14

00:12 A.M. – Report of gunshots heard on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Police investigated and determined that it was fireworks.

1:22 A.M. – Call of youth tipping over a sign at the Rocky Funeral Home. One very intoxicated youth was located and lodged in cells until sober.

5:21 A.M. – 3 Yamaha dirt bikes stolen from a dealership in RMH.

1:28 P.M. – Report of an assault on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. Police attended and arrested an adult male who was released after a Judicial Interm Release (JIR) Hearing to appear on a later court date.

7:41 P.M. – Report of an assault with a golf club on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Police attended and arrested an individual who was remanded for a court date in June.

May 15

00:11 A.M. – Call of 2 males, with black hoodies, going through a car on 45A street, RMH. Complainant yelled at the individuals who fled on their bikes. Cash was stolen from the vehicle.

11:01 A.M. – Attempted theft of a vehicle overnight from a compound at a RMH business on 43 Street.

4:16 P.M. – Call to assist EMS with a male who had been hit with a hammer on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. A male subject was arrested and released after a Judicial Interim Release Hearing

May 16

1:31 A.M. – Report of suspicious male peeking through a fence at a residence in RMH. Police were unable to locate the individual.

1:49 A.M. – Report of an assault in RMH. One male was arrested and released.

1:49 A.M. – Report of an assault which occurred at the Brazeau Provincial Rec Area. Police attended and arrested one male who was held for a JIR.

1:54 P.M. – Vehicle broken into overnight in RMH. A dash camera was stolen along with some change.

2:08 P.M. – 1998 red Dodge Dakota stolen overnight from a residence in RMH.

4:09 P.M. – Theft of a licence plate from a vehicle on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve.

May 17

7:32 A.M. – Report of an Impaired Driver at a gas station in Nordegg. Police attended and located a car with 2 males passed out inside. The driver was arrested and charges are pending.

3:21 P.M. – Report of an assault on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. Police attended and arrested an adult male who was held for a JIR.

6:10 P.M. – Report of an assault which occurred between campers at Phyliss Lake on Sec Hwy #591. Police attended and spoke to the parties involved. Under investigation.

May 18

2:31 P.M. – Report of cable stolen from lease sites in Clearwater County
