Brazeau County Council hears monthly fire statistics and supports Eagle Point – Blue Rapids Parks Council application

May 21, 2020 | 12:59 PM

Brazeau County Council this week made a motion to send a letter of support to the Eagle Point – Blue Rapids Parks Council, for an application to Alberta Environment and Parks for core park operational costs.

This funding will help support the Park’s operations for the next year as the council continues to encourage the practice of environmental stewardship to improve ecological integrity along the park system’s 50 kilometres of the North Saskatchewan River.

Also at the May 20 meeting, Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services Fire Chief Tom Thomson provided Brazeau County Council with the department’s April statistics.

There were 16 fire calls, with 12 in Brazeau County; six motor vehicle collision calls, all in Drayton Valley; and five alarm calls, with two in Brazeau County.
