Police searching for escapee from Maskwacis prison

MAY 6: Tyrone Emblau was arrested without incident by the Maskwacis RCMP Community Response Unit and General Investigative Section (CRU-GIS) on the evening of May 5 in Calgary. Emblau remains in custody and is scheduled for court in Wetaskiwin on May 14 on the charges related to his escape.

Correctional Service Canada says it is searching for an inmate who they realized had escaped around 4:30 a.m. on May 3 from the minimum-security Pê Sâkâstêw Centre in Maskwacis.

Tyrone Michael Emblau is currently not accounted for, authorities say. The centre is located three kilometres south of town.

CSC immediately contacted Maskwacis RCMP detachment and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Emblau is described as:

-36-years-old

-6’2″ tall

-260 pounds

-medium complexion with green eyes and black hair

Emblau has several tattoos on his arms and legs, including one on his right forearm that reads “space age forever” as well as an iron cross on each shoulder.

He is currently serving a sentence of two years, two months, and eleven days for assault with intent to resist arrest.

Anyone who sees him or has information on his whereabouts should call police immediately.
