May 2: Recoveries from COVID-19 total 175 versus 97 new cases

Alberta is reporting 97 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

Along with two new deaths, the province has now had 5,670 confirmed cases and 94 fatalities.

Recoveries are also up on Saturday by 175 to to 2,534.

The number of people in hospital is currently 88. There are 19 people in intensive care units, the lowest total since April 23.

More than 157,500 lab tests have been completed.

Locally, Red Deer remains at 36 cases, with just six active.

Sylvan Lake has one active case, reported earlier this week.

Data (by health zone):

Calgary: 3,775 (61 deaths)

Edmonton: 501 (12 deaths)

South Zone: 1,054 (5 deaths)

North Zone: 218 (15 deaths)

Central Zone: 88 (1 death)

Unknown: 34 (0 deaths)

Furthermore, the province says more than 60,000 people have downloaded the ABTraceTogether mobile app since it was launched on Friday.
