City offering COVID-19 updates via text, e-mail
Red Deerians can now sign-up for text and email updates about The City of Red deer’s municipal response to COVID-19 through its Notify Red Deer program.
Notify Red Deer is a mass notification system The City uses to send messages quickly to citizens during emergency and non-emergency situations. The system currently used to update citizens on snow clearing, street sweeping and cart collection schedules will now also be used to update citizens on COVID-19.
Through Notify Red Deer, citizens may choose to receive text or email alerts for updates as the situation changes. This may include changes to City services and programs, updates about facilities and amenities, news updates and other information that may affect residents. These updates will not include Alberta Health related information such as case numbers or localized outbreaks, as this information is provided by health officials and Alberta Health Services at www.ahs.ca/COVID.
Residents can sign up for municipal Covid-19 updates through Notify Red Deer, either by creating an account or updating their existing account at www.reddeer.ca/notifyreddeer.
