Apr 16, 2020 | 11:01 AM

The Red Deer Festival of Trees has been selected as a finalist in the category of Best Event Produced for a Community Based Non-Profit in the 2020 Canadian Event Industry Awards (CEIA).

The CEIA are the hallmark of achievement in the Canadian event and meeting industry. Since its inception in 1997, hundreds of events have been recognized with this globally recognized symbol of excellence.

“We are very honoured and proud to be nominated,” says Manon Therriault, Red Deer Regional Health Foundation CEO. “Our volunteers, supporters, donors, staff, and community take great pride in this annual event. It is a lot of hard work but very rewarding.”

2020 Canadian Event Industry Awards winners will be announced at a later date from Toronto.

Festival of Trees is the foundation’s main fundraising event. Over the past 26 years, Festival of Trees has raised over $16 million for programs, services, and equipment at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.

Each year, over 2,000 volunteers work together to ensure Festival of Trees is a success for enhanced healthcare in Central Alberta. Funds are raised for a specific department in our hospital based on the needs and demand of services in the facility.

The foundation says it is looking forward to sharing 2020 event details in the coming weeks.
