Lacombe parents given choice to help ease space crunch at Terrace Ridge School
Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) has come up with what it hopes are solutions to help ease capacity issues at Terrace Ridge School in Lacombe.
Parents of current Grade 6 students can now choose whether to have their kids attend Grade 7 at Terrace Ridge for the 2020-21 school year, or École Lacombe Junior High School (ÉLJHS).
Officials say WCPS has been reviewing the grade configuration of Terrace Ridge School because the school’s current utilization rate is 108.29 per cent and is expected to increase.
“This choice for families will be a way to balance the transition that is needed to address enrollment pressures at the school,” said Jayson Lovell, WCPS Superintendent. “Terrace Ridge School administration will be contacting current Grade 6 parents soon to determine their preference for next year.”
