STARS transports woman injured in Innisfail crash

One person was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries following a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Innisfail.

RCMP say the crash happened shortly after 2:00 p.m. when a southbound car stopped at a stop sign on 42 Avenue, then proceeded onto Highway 54 where it was struck by a westbound pickup truck.

RCMP Cpl. Meghan Bell says the lone occupant of the car, a woman in her mid-50’s, was taken to hospital in Innisfail then flown by STARS to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton where she remains.

The male driver and lone occupant of the truck was not hurt.

Cpl. Bell says no charges have been laid as of yet but the investigation continues.
