Several times this season the Red Deer Rebels have learned that you can’t let up before the game is over if you hope to string together wins.

Under a minute into the game, Red Deer was put onto the penalty kill when captain Ethan Sakowich flipped the puck over the glass for a delay of game call. The Blazers wasted no time when Orrin Centazzo redirected in a Zane Franklin pass for his 37th of the year only 11 seconds into the powerplay.

The Rebels got their first powerplay opportunity when Cam Hausinger had a breakaway when was slashed, drawing the call.

Then 15:32 into the first period, the puck was thrown down low by Jayden Grubbe. Masters retrieved it and threw it out front to Hausinger, who scored his 11th of the year.

Then just 18 seconds later, Ben King had the puck in transition and threw it over to Arshdeep Bains, who gave the Rebels a 2-1 lead with his 17th goal of the year.

The Blazers tied it up 5:11 into the second period as Brodi Stuart scored his seventh of the season past Rebels netminder Ethan Anders. Just over a minute later, the Blazers took their second lead of the night when Centazzo potted his 38th of the year and second of the night.

The Rebels answered back on a great solo effort by Josh Tarzwell for his 25th of the year. Tarzwell walked around Libor Zabransky and then went upstairs on Rayce Ramsay to tie the game at 10:36 of the middle frame.

The Blazers took the lead again 5:52 into the third period when Connor Zary put the puck on net, then it bounced off of the pad of Anders and onto the tape of Zane Franklin for his 27th of the year.
