Drayton Valley RCMP report: Feb. 6 – Feb. 12

February 6

9:46 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Ave – Complainant reported a suspicious truck parked by a neighbour whom he knew wasn’t home, and the truck then went further up the street. Members attended, truck gone. Residences checked and nothing suspicious found. By specific descriptors of the truck, members believe it was a contractor who is not suspicious.

10:17 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Member on patrol noticed a male driving who was known to be prohibited. Traffic stop conducted and the driver was arrested. Investigation determined that the truck he was driving was stolen though not yet reported. Charges pending.

10:43 am – Drayton Valley – Twp Rd 490 – Complainant observed a white Buick SUV pass a school bus with lights on. License plate provided didn’t come back to a vehicle.

12:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that his adult daughter was refusing to leave his car. Member attended. Dispute over some community service hours the daughter wasn’t taking seriously. Daughter eventually left the car.

3:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 42 St – Complainant reported his adult son was intoxicated and needed help. Members attended, located the son and found he was able to care for himself. Son agreed to seek some help for his drinking.

4:31 pm – Parkland County – RR75 – Complainant requesting members check on a male who had reported some poor living conditions, which caused concern. Investigation found the male to be okay and not living in a tent as had been reported.

4:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting assistance with a dispute over interpretation of a custody agreement. Advice given, nothing criminal.

10:14 pm – Drayton Valley – Center Court – Noise complaint, thumping sounds from the area of a trailer that should be unoccupied.

10:25 pm – Drayton Valley – Members on patrol observed a known offender in a pickup truck. Truck soon located abandoned, male driver located nearby and arrested. The truck had been reported stolen but it was later determined that was a misunderstanding. Male driver was charged with driving while disqualified.

11:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reported 3 unwanted males in a room. Members attended, one of the males was arrested and released for Court at a later date.

11:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported ongoing barking dog issues. Still under investigation.

February 7

12:25 am – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant reported that sometime between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm someone tried to steal his truck. Door lock punched and ignition damaged. Still under investigation.

12:34 am – Brazeau County – RR71 – Member attended to assist a Peace Officer at a traffic stop. Driver was ticketed for speeding as he had tried unsuccessfully to get his passenger home for curfew. Passenger arrested for breaching his conditions and released at his residence to appear in court at a later date.

3:01 am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complaint of male uttering threats. Members attended and arrested a male for breaching conditions he had been released on earlier in the night.

8:01 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting they were walking down the highway when a late model dark blue Dodge struck them in the shoulder with the mirror. Member attended and located driver. Driver charged under the Traffic safety act.

8:55 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed person on a cell phone while driving. Driver charged with Distracted driving.

9:43 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft from Evergreen School construction site sometime overnight. Stolen were welding cables and electrical wire.

9:56 am – Drayton Valley – 39 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of their grey and blue 1974 Chevrolet truck overnight. Suspects left behind a Maroon 2001 Dodge Ram 2500, stolen from Calmar on February 5. Chevrolet truck recovered in Breton.

10:15 am – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged with failing to produce drivers licence.

10:26 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic semi driver. Dirty blue Kenworth empty flat deck truck is trying to pass an oversized load unsafely on solid lines. Members attended, vehicle not located. Member contacted company and reported the same.

11:28 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reporting windows on Child and Family Services building were broken overnight.

11:41 am – Drayton Valley – Money Mart – Complainant reporting they attended the Money Mart to send money away and the clerk asked several questions. Complainant was upset.

12:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. Male in Red Dodge Ram asked about Invisalign. When asked their name, they backed up.

1:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Member on patrol observed vehicle failing to stop at stop sign. Traffic stop conducted, driver charged.

1:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting a dispute. Members attended and located persons. Verbal argument. Parties separated.

1:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – 911 hangup received. Upon callback, was advised their son was playing with phone. No emergency. Members attended and confirmed the same.

4:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Child custody complaint. Complainant supposed to have their son over the weekend, other party not being compliant. Member contacted the complainant and was advised there is a police enforceable clause in place. Member contacted the other party and advised them the complainant would be coming to pick the child up.

11:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant wishing a wellbeing check on son. Concerned that they are doing drugs. Complainant very intoxicated and advised they would come down and take care of it if needed. Son is well known to members and had spoken to them in the past 24 hours.

February 8

12:54 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious male going through vehicles with a flashlight. Complainant approached the suspect and asked what they were doing, was told to beat it. Member attended location, male located and admitted to being in the parking lot looking for bottles. A search of belongings did not reveal anything but bottles.

2:34 am – Drayton Valley – Splash Park – Complainant stated that they were walking to the splash park and a known female jumped in front of them and kicked their husband behind the knee. Threatened them.

2:55 AM – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Member attended the residence of known male who is on curfew conditions. Male not at residence. Male arrestable.

3:02 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol located a Nissan pick-up truck parked at the Esso Gas station with 2 occupants. Vehicle fled immediately and proceeded north at a high rate of speed when members attempted a traffic stop.

4:14 am – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant requesting member contact them with regards to their children. Complainant states that ex is being mean to children. Nothing physical has taken place.

4:37 am – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed a stolen vehicle that fled from police. Vehicle later recovered in Breton.

8:23 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an unwanted person at the Drayton Valley landfill. Person is presently sleeping. Member attended and located known female picking up garbage. Female removed from the site and advised not to return.

9:24 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Complainant reporting they arrived at work today and located a box near the entrance containing copper wire and personal items. Member attended and seized items.

10:30 am – Drayton Valley – Mackenzie Avenue – Complainant reporting their 2016 Ford F-150 was broken into sometime overnight. Gas monitor and boots stolen.

12:43 pm – Drayton Valley – Beckett Road – Complainant reporting theft of their blue 2003 Chevrolet Silverado with white 2012 Skidoo 800 Summit in the back. Truck recovered, Skidoo still outstanding.

1:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – 911 abandoned call. Call taker could hear male and female yelling. Member attended location, children playing with phone. No emergency.

1:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting family dispute. Their son is walking around residence hitting walls. Members attended, complainant simply wanted advice on how to deal with son.

2:25 pm – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant reporting daughter is out of control. Members attended residence, daughter had calmed down.

4:03 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 Avenue – Complainant reporting suspicious vehicles.

7:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting male is walking in the middle of the road. Complainant is driving a truck and towing a horse trailer, had to swerve to miss them. Male described as 25-30 years old, slim, wearing a baseball cap and jacket jeans. Member located male.

9:21 pm – Brazeau County – RR 74 – Noise complaint received. Members attended, music had stopped prior to arrival.

11:04 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Complainant called to request members attend residence as a friend is on drugs and they believe they will harm themselves. Members attended. Subject fine.

February 9

12:25 am – Drayton Valley – 48A Street – Complainant reporting a hit and run to their blue Hyundai Elantra. Vehicle was pushed into the truck in front. A witness stated that it looked like a Black Ford truck.

4:33 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Message received via Facebook that a female is in danger. Member was flagged down prior to receiving the call. Member attended residence, female advised they weren’t feeling well and wanted to go to the hospital. Member provided a courtesy ride. All parties had been doing drugs.

6:24 am – Drayton Valley – Hillcrest Manor – Complainant reporting a black Chevrolet pick-up has been cruising around looking at vehicles. Bars on the back window. Members attended area, vehicle located. Members attempted a traffic stop and vehicle fled. Truck ditched in a parking lot with flat tires.

11:03 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Off duty officer called in a break and enter in progress. Male observed prying at a window with a knife to gain entry. Member attended, suspect gone upon arrival. One window partially open. No entry gained.

11:38 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting vandalism and attempted vehicle theft. Male with a beard and wearing a grey/black jacket and red hoodie with a black backpack broke the windshield of a truck in the parking lot. The suspect then drove the truck into a fence when they tried to steal it. Members attended and arrested 30-year-old Dorian Bell. Bell charged with theft of vehicle and break and enter.

11:48 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter with vandalism overnight to the gated yard across the road. Batteries taken. Member attended.

12:36 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Member on patrol observed an unregistered and unlicensed vehicle parked in front of 49 Street. Vehicle was a Red Camry. Vehicle towed.

12:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting theft from there blue 2012 Hyundai Veracruze. Insurance and registration stolen.

1:11 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reporting a suspicious male hitchhiking. Complainant picked them up and the male wanted them to drive up and down gravel roads looking for a house. Complainant dropped male off at Easyford. Thought it odd and contacted police. Member attended location and ID known male. No issues.

1:57 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Alarm received, male attended and found place secure.

2:45 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a possible stolen truck. Vehicle matched a description of a vehicle stolen out of Edmonton. Member attended and queried all numbers associated with truck. Not stolen.

2:51 pm – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting a possible stolen truck located at the far end of RR 81. Vehicle is a 2010 dark blue Chevrolet half-ton. Door open and damage to vehicle. Member attended, vehicle confirmed stolen.

5:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting new white Ford F-150 with a male and female are trying to steal dogs from people’s’ yards. Members patrolled area, not located.

5:31 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a motor vehicle collision. A Motorhome is in the ditch. Member attended, vehicle located, owner had already called tow truck.

5:42 pm – Drayton Valley – 57 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver charged with operating motor vehicle without holding a drivers licence and transporting liquor in vehicle within drivers reach.

8:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Carleton East – Complainant requesting members conduct wellbeing check on friend. Members attended, no sign of any injuries, intoxicated by drugs.

8:28 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – 911 hang up from a cell phone. Caller advised they were being tailgated and almost pushed off the road by a red 4 door car. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located.

10:55 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford F-150 with known occupants. Open liquor observed as well as drug residue. All occupants arrested and charged.

February 10

12:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Complainant was on phone with member when they heard scuffling and an argument. Members attended and separated parties. Consensual fight between sisters.

2:58 AM – Drayton Valley – 58 Street – Member on patrol conducted a street check of a male which showed an outstanding warrant from Westlock. Male took off and was apprehended near the dog park. 39-year-old Kirk Jacobsen arrested on outstanding warrant as well as charged with flight from police.

3:07 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Request to assist EMS with access to a residence they are attending. Member was on their way when they were advised to stand down. No longer required.

7:16 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant reporting a stolen white 2006 Chevrolet 2500 with logo on the back window.

7:38 am – Drayton Valley – 63 Street – Complainant reporting a theft overnight. Keys and laptop taken.

9:24 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter over the weekend to under construction Evergreen School. Theft of tools, bandsaws, batter, cordless grinders, drills, and copper tubing.

10:37 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant called to report theft of two 30 lb propane tanks sometime over the past 10 days. Propane tanks were recovered recently and are returned to owner.

11:08 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported they were traveling south on Hwy 22 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle damaging the front driver’s side and hood.

12:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting mischief in progress at the dumpster behind Kentucky Fried Chicken. Member attended and located the known male. Male was confrontational with members.

2:01 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reported they were traveling southbound on RR 73 and applied brakes to slow for the bridge. Vehicle spun around and hit the guard rail.

3:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting their stolen vehicle is in the parking lot by the South Petro Canada. Members attended, vehicle located. Vehicle had been stolen from Calmar.

5:14 pm – Tomahawk – Complainant attended neighbours residence to complain about their dogs. Dogs are always running around and going onto other person’s property. Member warned both parties.

5:38 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a 2 vehicle collision near the bridge. A red Kia 2 door car was driving in the wrong lane which caused a jeep to swerve and hit a semi-truck. Kia car had fled the scene.

6:27 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle is blocking traffic. Suspect vehicle is a white Dodge Welding Truck, may have slid down a driveway. Member attended, owner located, vehicle moved.

7:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting a collision with a retaining wall. A black Dodge Journey just hit their retaining wall and the occupants walked away leaving the vehicle there. Member attended, the vehicle was gone.

7:33 pm – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Complainant called to report a suspicious truck parked at the end of their driveway for approximately 5 minutes. When driver saw the complainant they took off north.

9:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a possible stolen credit card. Member attended and further investigation revealed card not reported stolen.

10:28 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle that failed to stop at a red light. Warning issued to driver.

February 11

8:33 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting they were stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk when they were rear-ended by another vehicle. No injuries.

10:15 am – Tomahawk – Complainant advising that they wanted to provide a statement with regards to threats and assault.

11:27 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting the alley fence was cut and open. A roofer van door which was parked in the yard had its door open. Doesn’t appear anything taken.

12:08 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Avenue – Complainant reporting vehicle had been broken into and a scarf, Reebok shoes, and a gym bag were stolen.

12:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Bus Hub – Complainant attended detachment to report an assault that occurred at the Bus Hub between two 14-year-old students. Further investigation revealed a consensual fight.

1:03 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting a known male pulled a knife on them. Members attended, male not located. No injuries. Complainant very intoxicated by drugs and alcohol.

1:07 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant advised they were pursuing suspects from a theft. Vehicle was described as a Black four-door GMC with black rims and tinted windows. Members located vehicle and driver at Coach Motel. Driver indicated that they were being chased by female. No indication involved in theft.

5:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting known female stole their phone while they were in their hotel room. Complainant refused to provide statement. Refused to cooperate with police.

7:42 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a possible impaired driver in a red Ford Expedition. Female driver, unable to maintain lane, went into oncoming traffic. Member patrolled area, Vehicle not located.

8:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant reporting ex assaulted them. Member attended and spoke with both parties. Female arrested and charged with assault, held until sober.

9:54 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting unwanted females kicked in the building door, yelled at people then left. Related to a previous incident. Complainant did not wish any charges.

February 12

3:14 am – Drayton valley – Carlton East – Complainant reporting a disturbance. Members attended, nothing heard, no disturbance.
